Is there ANYTHING that will actually help diminish stretch marks?
A few years ago I used to be quite a bit heavier, and now I'm happy because I can finally get away with wearing a bikini top. The problem is, I still have really bad stretch marks on my sides (I thought my board shorts would cover them but they don't whatsoever) so I STILL can't wear one
Does anyone know something that can help diminish them? I'm getting desperate >< I hate feeling so self conscious about them. |

I have stretch marks on my butt... but not from losing weight.. from GAINING IT! :icon_042:
I recommend a rich cocoa-butter based cream. It worked well for me and for my mom when she was expecting which is really good considering how HUGE my sister was, lol.

At the very least, it moisturizes well AND smells like a yummy chocolate/cookies-n-creme bar! LOL _________________

| jousy did you use it after you'd had the marks for awhile? Cuz a lot of the creams I've seen say they're best on new marks-I've had these for years now from when I was a quite a bit heavier (I got the marks from gaining weight when I was in my early teens, and now that I lost the weight I still haven't lost the marks!) |

OK so that stuff did NOTHING for me unfortunately. Back to square one I guess I think my marks are too old (I've had them for maybe like, 5 years now?) |

yeah, appearently once they are past the pink stage and into the more white-ish stage, they are harder to get rid of |

Yeah this is really embarassing but why not share, none of you know me..
I got stretch marks on my stomach and sides in my early teens because i started to get overweight. Over the years they've started appearing everywhere...my lower back, knees, legs and now my arms. Not just my upper arm but now my lower arm too (like around my elbows and below) and i just lost some weight so i'm not even that fat anymore. It's really starting to bother me and slowly its becoming all i think about. If this keeps going on, eventually I won't even be able to wear a T-shirt (can you imagine?)
I don't think this is normal..
I'm desperate for anything that works.

^I've realized that things like stretch mark creams work while you're actually getting the stretch marks. Once they turn very light/white-it's almost impossible to get rid of them (like mine are now).
I've heard there's a laser that works-but then I also heard that it doesn't really work :S
I've just decided to screw it-I'm stuck with them so I'm not going to let them get to me. I've been frustrated the past couple of years because I'm finally skinny enough to wear a bikini and I have these marks-but this year I'm just going to buy a bikini top anyways and who cares if people look at them. I worked hard to lose weight I want to enjoy it! |

The cocoa butter stick is a best seller at the BoSho. However, the cocoa butter formulas work best to PREVENT stretch marks, so are perfect for expectant mothers. They can diminish some stretch marks that are already there to a certain degree, but the Body Shop also sells a Stretch Mark Improver cream from the body focus line made especially to fade them. |

I also have a few stretch marks on my thighs, in the middle and on my hips. I've had them since I was 16. At 17 I lost about 20 pounds of baby fat and I never bothered doing anything with them because I don't like being out in the sun much so I don't really wear bikini's. My mom got this stuff from London Drugs called VITA-K Creme for stretch marks and its amazing I put it on after my shower and before bed and its been three weeks and a few are already less visible. If you want quicker results (and I'm also considering this)
go to a tanning salon. One you turn brown the stretch marks should turn white, and when your tan fades they will be faded. My friend did this for her marks on her calfs and thighs to and it really worked! but I'm a bit skeptical about it because tanning booths freak me out but there is an amazing tanning salon down the street from my BF's house and its only 25$ and you can tan all month for as long as you like, so I'm considering it
Also the key not to get more stretch marks is to always noisturize _________________

my friend told me that theres this lotion from Clarins that helps to get rid of them - I don't remember the exact name and i haven't bought it yet, but i plan to! she said that her stretch marks pretty much disappeared with it! _________________

i have stetch marks on the backs of my legs and my hips
i started using this lotion just a month ago,
and ive noticed a difference right away.
its called:
Calypso Cocoa Butter Hand & Body Lotion.
I got mine from Superstore, so maybe youll find it there.
It works really good for me, and i think it might help you
cause i kinda had the same problem.
I find that most of the 'commercial' brands dont actually work
as well as they say it does. Most of them are filled with useless
chemicals and stuff that isint necessary.
The bottle is kinda big [as long as the average forearm]
and its white with a yellow-orange label. =D
just incase you have trouble finding it. |

I wish the creams worked for marks that have left the pink stage. I have ones on the bottom of my butt and I never noticed them when they were first came. So now it's been a few years and I'm pretty sure they're not going anyway. _________________

^If you start applying lotions/creams/whatever right now, you have a really good chance of them going away. _________________

| It depends. Our skin is like a spring that has an elastic limit. If a spring has been too stretched, it won't take back its initial form. It's the same thing for our skin. Stretch marks appear when it has passed its own limit. I hope though that pink stretch marks can disappear completely or at least become less visible :S ! |
