Okay, so I'm considering getting one but I'd like to know more about them first...
How do they work?
Do they hurt? In comparison to waxing?
How long does the hair removal last? (I know it depends on each person and how fast their hair usually grows, but just on average..)
How much do they cost?
What's a good/reliable brand?
If you can answer any or all of these, that would much appreciated! _________________

Hey lucky!
I've got one, and I love it! Umm it does hurt (but i've never tried waxing before) but I'm guessing it would be slower than waxing since it doesnt get everything in one go - you'll get used to it eventually..haha and hair grows back slower because you're plucking the hairs out
how it works: its like a shaver with the rotating thing at the top, except instead of a blade under a sheet of hole-ey metal, its a rotating set of little clamp things.. that clamp onto each hair and pluck them out as it rotates - it does get sort of messy though (gross I know, but the plucked hairs have to go somewhere!)
Mine is a Braun, and I'm pretty sure you can get one for about $30 at Personal Edge (they have it in Toronto, not sure about other locations) I think that store offers free cleaning for life too which is always good!
It's alright for me personally, but my friend can't use it because her skin is really sensitive and told me it gives her red bumps where the hairs were plucked (she tweezes each one, and thats okay for her)
hope this helps! =) |

hmm personally it takes a little over 1 and a half weeks, to 2 weeks... I think? I never really kept track though lol but like you said, it depends on each person..
plus when it grows back, its fine hair, since its new right? so you COULD get away with out doing it again once you see it growing back for like a day or 2 |

ooh I should also mention that the epilator ends up breaking the fine hairs sometimes...essentially cutting them..
so I still pluck them one by one sometimes.. but damn it takes so longg! =( |

I tried plucking them out one by one, but that is SO time-consuming. I think I'm going to buy an epilator. I wear shorts or a skirt at least 3 times a week, and I get so tired of having to shave so often.
I'll get back and see how the epilator works! _________________
