Guess what? Summer's coming!

Any ideas on where to get a good tankini for a good price?
Last year I got some great ones at Old Navy for a really good deal $20 top + $20 bottom = $40

I checked their website, this year they don't seem to have a good selection

Check Aqua La Vie en Rose, H&M, The Bay, Sears, and AE.

Roxy and Oakley make really nice ones. Although kinda expensive, mine was over $110 for both pieces.

I find that Roxy and Billabong has the lowest rise. I tried one on and my butt crack was nearly showing. My bikini is XOXO and was just as expensive as Missally's. Another store is Bikini Village.

^ that's true. I also had to size up... imo tie up ones are skimpier, and usually only cover half your bum Sad

I would definately check out ae. I have a few of their bathingsuits and I love them. I want to get another one this year, I really like thier blue dot one, and the black one with the eagles on it, its really cute.

I need a new one this year too!!!!

I'm thinking of trying ae...but I don't want my bottoms to be reallllly skimpy. I like coverage! Anyone know how skimpy they are?

Old navy doesn't seem to have a lot either. Hmm, last year they had a bunch by this time of year.

Roxy, Billabong, etc. ones are overpriced.

Winners does have some bikinis, and even the O'Neill ones were a pretty good price.

^ I like AE swimsuits. They're decently priced (~$30) and have good coverage. =)

I haven't seen any this season yet, but H&M's swimsuits are pretty inexpensive (~$20). But you would have to buy them early on since a lot of the smaller tops/bottoms go fast.

^^I think AA has those.

^And Baltex has tankinis. Just go to a store that specializes in swimwear and I'm sure you'll be able to find what you're looking for. Try places like Bikini Village.

BTW, has anyone seen any cute halter bikinis (not the string ones, the more sport-y yet still stylish ones) anywhere? And does anyone know if Winners has any?

Halter tops that are gathered in the middle of your chest are more flattering for flatter girls.

I'm pretty flat too, but most of the bikinis that I've seen have padding in the bust. However, they are removable. So would it be better to keep the padding in or take it out?

^ I think keep it in, unless it's really noticable that it is padding and not natural :P

^^ I agree w/ missally. Most bikini tops I've seen have very subtle paddings - mainly for making the top less see-through-ish when it clings to you after it's wet.

they have a great variety of bikinis/tankinis/full peices at h&m and old navy. i got a couple from there and they arent very expensive so you can get more than one. I love the ones at h&m. very unique, although not the best quality. for flat chested girls...try zara! great stuff and unique designs. ill probably get a nicer bikini when i go to the states though. much cheaper.

SWIMCO! They mostly sell Roxy, O'Neill, Rusty, billabong, etc. that are pretty pricey... they do have a pretty good selection though. I saw some boyshort bikini bottoms there that were really cute (no butt crack! haha)

Off-the-Wall! (only in BC though.. unfortunately)
They have a pretty good selection too.

I really like the AE ones. I'll see if I can grab a bikini from there......after I whip my flabby bod into shape Very Happy

You could just get some boardshorts that are short. I have some billabong ones and I love them. I wear them all the time.

Haha I'm with ya jousy! I'm gonna try grabbing some of that cocoa butter lotion and see if that works at all so I can finally go buy a bikini and feel good in it.

La Vie En Rose swim is a really good place for tankinis. Almost every print comes in both bikini and tankini styles, which means you don't have to drool over the adorable bikini prints and then have to turn around to face the blahness of most tankinis. Plus they're longer (they basically will hit the top of your bottoms) unlike many tankinis I've found which are cropped above the bellybutton which I think can be quite unflattering (since they cover the smallest part of your body and show off the little below-the-navel bump almost all of us have lol). They're pretty reasonable too-so I'd definitely give them a go for tankinis!
