^^yeah, you could wear some tights with them. Or, since you said it's shorter, you could maybe wear some skinnies with it. But I don't know how that would look, might not be a great suggestion. I imagine the dress is cute anyway.

@Puddingcup: I LOVE mustard yellow tights and I think it would look gorgeous with that. You could also try black patterned tights similar to the ones below to give the outfit more texture and to break up all the black.

I would wear it over jeans (if it looks good that way). If you want to bare legs, then pick very tall boots.

^ unless you plan on wearing them with something really short then i'd suggest you to go for the shorter ones cause you might actually see them.

^I agree, you could wear almost any type of shoe you want with that dress. I think it would look adorable with flats, or strappy flat sandals. If you wanted to try boots, I think ankle boots might work.

I'm thinking something like this:
http://s7d2.scene7.com/is/image/UrbanOutfitters/14129464_11_a?$cat$
but in a like chestnut colour of leather.

do you think it would look nice with the dress?

do you think skinnies would go well with those boots too?
I don't want to buy them, just for one dress.

^^If you can tuck the skinnies in then it would look good. You know those tweed type of cuffed (short) shorts? I think those boots will look awesome with those types of shorts as well.

I didn't necessarily check... =P

ooh, those boots are cute! i think that they would look cute with dark washed jean skinnies (tucked in) and like others said, probably skirts/dresses and shorts as well.

^for the first two i would say probably darker coloured jeans and slouchy boots would look great with those blouse shirts!

as for the skirt, itd be so cute with a black sweater or cardigan and white shirt underneath! Happy

^^ For those first two blousey shirts, I'd go with dark skinnies, ballet flats, and a cardigan or blazer. For the skirt, I think it'd look cute with thigh-high socks a la Serena from Gossip Girl, and I'd probably throw an oversize, knit belted cardigan on top

@ signolo: those blouses are adorable, especially the white one. For the weather right now, dark skinnies are definitely the way to go, with a loose cardigan. But for spring/summer, I think they'd look great with skirts as well, something brown and A-line for the first one, and something darker and pencil for the second blouse, with the blouse tucked in I think. Both would also look great with wide-leg pants as well, now that I think about it... it'd be really classy.
The skirt is also really sweet, I think I would wear it with a v-neck knit, or a flowy blouse with tuxedo detailing of some sort, possibly also tucked in. As spring comes I think cream, lavender and pale pink would go great with it.

How do you accessorize this dress?

It basically looks like this except it's grey and the sash thingy is different, but same material and look.

It's for semi-formal.. What kind of jewelry should I wear?

^I'm thinking that a clutch, charm bracelet, and heels would go nice with it...though I'm not sure what colour would look nicest with it.
Because the dress already has a nice and high collar, I don't think that a necklace will be necessary. You could always try wearing a long necklace (not beads) with it but I think that it might make the outfit seem more casual.
