I bought this dress a couple of weeks ago, and I haven't really seen anybody wearing anything like it. What do you guys think?
And if I'm being honest, it looks a lot better on me than in the picture. I wear the belt tied a little tighter and the fabric on the upper portion is puckered a little bit more. It looks almost like a toga, but I LOVE this dress. I'm gonna get either some gold gladiator sandals, or gold strappy heels. Do you guys think gladiators would be a little bit much since it's a toga type dress?

yeah, in the picture it looks more ethnic yet synthetic. But I can imagine it on someone else, I like it alot.

^^I have that dress in grey. I love it and I think it would look really good with gladiators. I don't think it would be too much, it would bring out the ethnic vibe of the dress. And it would be perfect for summer!

Lil_PinkBunnie said she has it/ saw it in grey? But maybe she saw a different dress. Mines from Costa Blanca, and I only saw it in orange there.
The thing is, I never would have even seen it if my mom hadn't made me try it on :P I'm not huge on orange but my mom loves it, and she says that since she doesn't have the body for some stuff she likes to see me wear it :P

I'm gonna take a picture of myself in it one day when I get my shoes and ask what you guys think again =)

Yup, I have the exact same dress but in grey. The grey version came out before the orange one so when I got it, it was on sale. You won't even believe it..I got it at 2 for $15!! I'm not sure if they still have it in grey though, maybe that's why .beautiful. didn't see it in store.

what do you think ?

i want to shorten it, do you think it'll look weird?
do you think i should poof it out starting from the waist, or only at the very bottom? because when i move the scratch (the white stuff under the dress) without cutting it, it starts from my waist..

Yep, I think it would look better short too. At the length it is now, it seems kind of conservative. I think it would definitely be more playful if it was shorter.

I agree I think it would look better and a bit more "now" (sorry I couldn't think of a better word) if it was shorter. I like the colour though!

Ok, I bought shoes to go with my orange dress:

I didn't end up going with the gladiatos because they felt a little costumish but I would buy the ones I tried on to wear with other things.

This is another dress that I bought that I'm in love with and the shoes I got for it:

And finally, a dress for an upcoming wedding, to which I am wearing the same shoes as the gold dress:

Thanks guys!

cappuccino_cream: It's not that they're weird, they're just not very nice.. Like MAG said, they would be a lot nicer without the holes.
And like TNA, I've also seen the Marc Jacobs ones, and they look like a very cheap imitation.

.beautiful.: Great choice for the shoes! And I love your gold-ish dress, where did you get it from??

cappucino_cream: I'm going to have to agree with the others on this one. I think the shoe isn't necessarily ugly though...it's just a little too out there for me. I think a certain individual with a certain style would be able to rock it, but definitely not me.

The orange and gold ones are both from Costa Blanca, and the black one is from Le Chateau.

^^
I'm not sure whether it would be a good buy but for some reason i picture a clutch with some pink in it to match the pink around the waist.
But make the shoes silver or something.. but not too shiny silver or anything.

Looks really great! Very Happy
