does anyone here own a pair of these? are they good quality/worth the money/do they fit really well? because i'm looking for a solid, dark blue pair of jeans, and i love the "ink" wash, but i'm wondering if they're worth the price...
i'm debating between a pair of j brand and a pair of paige bootcuts (and i love paige!)....is j brand comparable to paige in any way, or is paige better? thanks! |

the ink wash is gorgeouss.
i don't own paige or jbrands, but i would guess it depends what cut of jbrands you're looking at (16, 14, or 12 inches at the ankle, i think that's how they describe it.) |

lol, st4r are you going to get another pair of jeans?
well, i like jbrands personally for their cigarette jeans...not so much a fan of their new stuff. the fit's good for really tall and slim people, just because their inseam's hella long...i don't own any in blue, but i do own jbrands in black...not a fan of jbrand trousers though. i think it's best to buy jbrands for skinnys, then turn to other reliable brands such as COH, Joe's or even Paige for instance for other jeans! |

| The two jeans you're deciding between are totally different. J Brand doesn't make a bootcut so if you're wanting a bootcut jean then for sure get the Paige jeans. I like J Brand for their clean styling and choice of washes but I would not pay full CAD retail price for them. |

| ooh, my friend just bought J Brand 16" jeans in the ink wash (she loves the jeans.. a lot) a few days ago on revolveclothing. They look clean and classic. If you decide to get them, buy them from revolve and use a discount code. My friend got hers for $135 in total, whereas in Aritzia they're selling for like $200+ ? |

lol I was just going to make a post on this too. I'm getting some new stuff on Friday..and I was looking the other day and I saw a girl wearing the J brands and they looked REALLY good. I was like sold on them.
I tried the habituals on a while ago and they looked good on me but J Brand is hotter then Habitual it seems:P |

^ I'd like to know that too. LOL. I am annoyed with Winners shopping (well I've never really found anything there)...but I think we can all agree that $225 vs. $100... hey that's a deal!
sergio - check this out:
Apparantly they do make other styles, LOL. Well I would still get the skinny's/ |

| cassie -- I think Jbrand got famous because of their skinnys, and now they want to branch out to bootcut and trouser fits so they can leech more money off of consumers! |

Think you're right apple! Lol everyone is trying to get into it. Rock and Republic is making skinny's.. I don't know why, but I would never buy those and I'm really into R&R now!
Jbrand fits well. |

| Well the bootcut J Brands are not sold in stores here and you really must try them before you buy because they all fit differently. All the different washes and styles fit differently. (And are those pictured even bootcut? They made a wide leg/flare now too. But again those aren't sold here.) I've seen J Brands at Winners here too but they were the Clean (i.e no back pockets) and were even on clearance but they didn't look as good as the regular styles with back pockets. And J Brand is popular right now but they are not the only high end denim brand out there that makes a clean styled skinny/straight jean. Other brands that are similar are Paige, Acne, and Nobody and for popular brands of skinny jeans there's also the TR, Tsubi/Ksubi, and Cheap Monday. |

The idea of buying like TR (ESP. TR's), R&R or Seven skinny jeans just doesn't appeal to me at all. I can't really figure out why. Like if I'm getting skinny's, I feel that they have to be J Brand or at least Habitual LOL. .. And you're right sergio they aren't sold here anywhere.
I think that gray skinny's are something that would go out of style though. At least with the blue ones you can always wear them with boots. It is true that bootcuts either bunch up at the knee or they stuff out of the boot LOL!!! |

Oh sorry guys, I meant that I was deciding between the J Brand skinnies, (NOT the bootcuts, I don't like the j brand bootcuts) and paige bootcuts (even though I already have Paige bootcuts and paige skinnies, but I love paige). And I was planning to buy them from revolve in the first place, I never pay full retail for my jeans. I saw some J brands at Winners but they were not in my size and they were dirty.
LOL cassie that's why I made this post, because I've seen a lot of girls in J Brand and they look really good. I didn't like j brand when I tried them on initially but that was a long time ago (plus I tried on a size too large) so I'm hoping to try them again.
So anyways...are J brands worth it at all? Or should I just stick with Paige? |

They're worth it but not at full price (here I mean). I'd get them from the States, because there's always random periods where they have like 20% coupon or whatever. But yes, I would get them |

I'm starting to see Paige around quite a bit too. I don't have those..yet. I'm kind of in this rock and republic stage where I got 3 pairs really close together LOL.
Well, I dunno. I'm going shopping Friday at Holts. I went there today just to scope it out again and my friggen Velvet top got sold. PO'd. I've been eyeing it for a while.
Apple... ok... I'm curious now.... should I really get J brands online? Like how much cheaper are they? Because then I can get more stuff lol! Between all this stuff I want from Holts I'm leaving very little room for anything from Aritzia, lol. ( |

If you go to sites like Shopbop for example, they generally sell for $158-168USD...compared to $239 at Aritzia -- I may be wrong about the price at Aritzia...can't remember!
There's always random coupon codes and such, or even sales online where you could get a good deal. Jeans here are so much more overpriced and limited in selection. Just my view.
If you're going to Seattle or States in the near future, I'd wait until then to go check out the stores. You'll probably find more styles in general, and better prices too, for example go to Barneys. |

Hmm.
OK. LOL. I was going to go shopping on friday but you have a point. Interestingly enough my best friend is going to Seattle on Saturday....I don't know if that would work though. LOL. But the more stuff I can get the better.
I was also going to get 2 james perse tops that I liked and this Vince kind of layered thing going on (I think that one was 98$ and it had some striped tank under it). Is that stuff cheaper in the states too? I've never really norticed..Only times I've found amazing deals are at those Neiman Marcus sales. Neiman's knows how to put on a SALE!! My friend thought the james perse tops were overrated and over priced but I like the clean/simple look. Then again, they were like $100 or something. |

I totally agree about Neimans! Well, let's say generally clothing prices are lower in the US. Check sites like Nordstrom, Saks and you'll see that prices are cheaper. Depends on what you're looking for though.
I've heard C&C were bad quality, but James Perse seems to be holding up! Personally, I like their stuff too. As for Vince, generally when I go to US, there's a lot more selection. (Side note, I'm very very happy -- going to NYC so I'll be able to shop in March!) |

You're right about C&C. Well I think, I have alot of layered tank tops and 2 of them were from C&C and they both pilled after washing ,lol. They are really thin material though and none of the Talula ones have really held out that long anyway. I did, however, wear them to death in the summer haha.
Oh lucky, lucky. I'm not going to LA in march because there's so friggen' reading break lol. I have a feeling I'll probably cave in and the spend the money anyway, much to my regret LOL.. |

| Oops! I forgot about this thread. The Winners I saw the jbrands at was in Oakville, I don't know if anyone is familiar with Oakville but it's the one in the Town Center off N. Service Rd. with the HMV and the Michaels. |

OK so I went to quickly buy J Brand at Aritzia yesterday and they don't fit me like the Habituals at ALL. J Brand WAY bigger, like too long and they looked like the 1995 Guesss jean that's not quite a skinny you know?
Ugh. I'm contemplating getting them taken in now. |

Hmm ok so I called and htey were like we only have gray and brown or something. Ugh. I think that I am leaning torwards the habituals because I remember really liking them when I tried them on.
J brand on the other hand, looked like I was channeling the 1995 Guess straight leg jean (hanging off the ass and all) :icon_yahoo: |

| LOL that's not good then! Well, I think I saw the grey Habituals that you wanted earlier at Oakridge Artizia for like 145 or something..yup. It was near the front of the store, to the right on one of the hanging racks in the middle...like between the middle and right of the store. Yeah. They still have them is what I'm trying to get at! |

| I don't mind the gray but I think it's a little too trendy because I don't think it will last... I'm a little more classic then that...but anyhoo, the only store that has the blue ones is Metro :p |

haven't posted here in a while!
Ok, I'm still thinking about the J brands kind of....question though, do the pockets get smaller with every size? Or are the pockets the same size on every pair? For example, are the pockets on a sz 23 or 24 smaller than the pockets on a size 31? Because I tried on a size 25 in the 14" legs at Winners in the dark vintage wash, and the whole jean was baggy on me anyway, but the pockets looked so huge on my backside. LOL. But when I see girls in them, the pockets seem to fit them more, LOL...but then again, they are wearing j brands that fit. haha. |

I'd assume the pockets are proportionate to the size...otherwise it would look really strange! Can't guarantee though. I guess it also looks great when the size actually fits?
They still have Jbrands at Winners? I just got another pair when I was in NYC in black and ink washes...hmm, hopefully those weren't at Winners! |
