I've been thinking of having a spa-type party for my birthday, and taking all my girlfriends to a salon to get our nails done. Anyways, I was wondering if you guys knew of good places in Vancouver to get spa services done (manis/pedis in particular)...? I know Pure Nail Bar and Pink Nail Spa are pretty good but I was just wondering if there are any other places.
This will be my first time getting a mani/pedi and I just want to make sure that I'm going to a good place. Also, is around 30 dollars standard for a manicure? _________________

I work for Pure Nail Bar!
Our parties are pretty good (and I'm not just saying that lol). You can rent the salon out for 2hrs and bring in your own food/drinks/movies to watch. We usually do them after hours (7-9PM) but you can do it any time of day if you want.
The prices are a bit higher for parties, but they include taxes and tips:
Mani pedi combo: $65
Mani: $35
Pedi: $45
It's not really luxurious/spa-like, but it's pretty good for parties. All the services are done on sofas so there's lots of space for everyone to hang out together while they're getting services done.
Which location were you thinking of going to? |

^ Oh that's pretty good, I would normally expect the Holt Spa to be pretty expensive but that's quite reasonable. What about the atmosphere though? I don't really want it to be totally like quiet and "om" if you get what I mean, cause it is my birthday after all, I want it to be upbeat and fun but relaxing at the same time.
^^ And I heard about that too! I'm definitely thinking about booking them to come to my house to give my friends and I manicures/pedicures. _________________

^No, its a total fun atmosphere in there! The employees are really nice, and they even have this Australian girl who is so cute and fun! But yeah, people are always loud in there, esp. big groups. Plus, its nice inside, and they have this yummy cucumber/strawberry water in a cool thing. (hahah REAL descriptive!). I really wish I had pics, to show how nice and fun it is in there. But yeah, I would DEF recommend it, you and your friend will have an AMAZING time. _________________

^ Oooh okay!
meg-san: Wow, I didn't even see your post the last time I posted! Yeah, me and my friends are seriously considering going to Pure Nail Bar, it's one of the more common places and for the most part what we've heard about it is good...we were planning on going to either the Yaletown or Metrotown one. _________________
