^I don't think it'll bulk up! Happy But congratulations on biking at home for an hour everyday. Cool

And I think someone here was looking for a BMI chart for teens and I found one!!! Very Happy http://www.thedailyplate.com/users/bmi/ I think you might have to register first but it's free so might as well register! The good thing about it is that I think the chart is customized to your exact age.

I kinda feel good because yesterday and today, I was playing basketball. (: Yesterday, I biked for like fifteen minutes but then saw that the basketball court was full so I biked to my elementary school to shoot hoops for about half an hour. Then, I went back to the basketball court that I went to before and there were only like three people left so I started playing probably for 45 minutes to an hour. Then I just biked back home.
Today, I biked to the basketball court again and shot hoops for two hours. I'm really proud of myself for accomplishing that! I hope that I'll be able to do that almost every week.

I want to lose weight for summer cause as usual I have gained alot of weight over the winter. Except this is the heaviest I have been, ususally in summer I am inbetween 95-100 and now i am 115. I am around 5'0 so that is alot of weight to gain for my height. Essentially, I want to stop eating junk and get back to my more toned body.

^Did you fill out your weight, height, and age already? If you haven't, click on "Calorie Calculator" and then my calorie goals and try again. Or you could try this website: http://apps.nccd.cdc.gov/dnpabmi/Calculator.aspx
And I have the same goals as you! I'm around the same height and around the same weight and am aiming for 95-100 pounds by end of summer.

all i know is that i wanna be more toned and lose some weight before the summer but i'm still not sure around how much i should go down to.
i'm 5"2 so i suppose a little more that you girls ^ ^^ right?

this is why i have been trying to find a BMI thing Confused

i know that weight and your bmi is important to overall health, but what about the size of our waistline. whats the average size? i measured mines now and it came up to be around 33 Embarassed ... but i guess thats due to bloating though

^ yea. that's true. i wonder what the average should be too.
also i suppose how your clothes fit you can be a determining factor when you're trying to loose weight.

GAHH!!

SUMMER IS ALMOST HERE!
And, I have really strayed away from exercising... ) :
.... I was really hoping to wear more.. summery clothes, rather than the usual PE-shorts-and-tshirt get-up I usually sport.

What are you girls' plans for this summer? *Keeping-in-shape wise*

^Well I train basketball so like I have practices like everyday.
But beside that, I currently started doing sit-ups. I want abs. I use to have like a 4-pack but I really want a 6-pack... and I dont want it to stick out SO much.
And ofcourse I run and like ride my bike. But I plan on getting roller-blades. I haven't rode them in forever.

Okay, i know suggestions have been posted already.
But here's the deal with me. My family was invited to go to a "beach day" in a couple months with some friends.,. okay alot of friends. like, 20. and we've known them for a while and there aren't any really my age in the other families.. but that's besides the point.
I HAVE to get in shape.
There is no way i will wear a bikini looking the way i do.
Not just for that day.. but this whole summer onward.

I want to lose at least 5-10 pounds and just tone up everything.(specifically abdomen and thighs)
I know it's not just diet but excercise aswell.
Any suggestions? And i'm seriously confused because i know part of changing your diet is portioning your meals and i've heard you should eat something every 2 hours or something. But i can't do that during the week, at school. and my lunch time changes almost every day.
Help?! Anything will do. Just whatever you know works.. and isn't to hard to stick to.

Well my BROTHER lost like 15 pounds in two weeks doing this.
Eating rice, fish & everything healthy. Buying black bread. Drinking water, NO COKE/PEPSI!
Also he would run every night.
So this is what I suggest:
Eat healthy.
Exercise. (run, do pushups, sit-ups, walk)
Try to avoid JUNK food, no ice cream, and bla bla bla.
Believe me this helps!

I have the same problem. Confused
But i did try a few pairs on in the past...(obviously not buying them)
but i find darker colored shorts make your thighs look smaller than lighter colored ones.
Just a tip.
Right now i have to wear bermuda's. I haven't worn short shorts for ages!!! Icon_wrong

oh gosh i havent exercised in a while. my soccer season ended like 2 months ago and i havent done anything. :shock: i think ill start doing situps and runnning everyday.also ill try to cut junkfood out of my diet.

^^Yeah, I wanna make my thighs skinnier. D: Darker on the bottom and brighter on top will draw attention away from your thighs.
But I don't wanna wear short shorts; I really like bermudas but I don't wanna wear them now because I don't like my calves. Sad

^I'm gonna start trying to do situps, pushups, running, and maybe biking more too! And I'm definitely trying to cut out most junk food from my diet. I've been pretty good with it this week (except for the Smarties) and I think I eat less now, ever since I went to camp this weekend. I always eat less and feel full fast at camp so now, I'm used to it.

And I'm kinda glad because since I moved around quite a bit at camp and ate less, I lost 5 pounds. Some of it probably was from before it though but either way, it's good. But I still have to lose quite a bit until my target. :S

^aw well that is hard.
i'm okay with my calves, i actually really like them so bermuda's are fine.
but i cAN'T get SHORT shorts.. i just mean shorter than bermuda's .. kind of in between. That is, unless i miraculosly lose enough weight and tone my thighs enough to wear short shorts....
but i kinds doubt that. Icon_wrong

Congrats to everyone on keeping fit; for others, let's work harder to achieve our goals!

Lately, I've been walking to school with my friend. I find it's making somewhat of a difference, because I have to walk UP HILL! Sad thing is... I haven't been biking that often..

I want to go running, but the thing is.. I feel self concious running around this park that's near by... too much uphill for a n00b like me..... :S My plan is to reactivate my membership at the Y, but I'm going to wait 'til AFTER June, because my mom's MC is paying my monthly fees... And I don't want to burden her with my Y membership AND tutor. :S

And other thing I'm using as a scapegoat as to why I'm not running outside/really exercising, is that the weather is horrible....... we're supposed to have a lot of sun this week, but it's all clouds!!! T____t I want summer *or the sun* to come!

Ok school starts again in the fall and i want to trim up before i start college. In the last 5 months i've lost weight, i probably lost about 10 pounds but i put 5 back on which i want gone! I know i can do it i just need to stay focused.

So my plan

workout
20 minutes of cardio 4 days a week
20 minutes of toning (sit ups, lunges, push ups, weight lifting)
10 minutes stretching

i generally eat pretty well, just more than i should :P

diet
cut back on red meats..substitute with tofu or chicken
replace daily beverages with water instead of pop/juice
snacks will be apples, grapes, or whole wheat carbs
coffee replaced with green tea
Portion control


I'm starting next monday and i'm going to stick with it!
