black heads

i definatly have some black heads on my nose, not too bad but they're there. I was always curious if those black head strips for your nose worked but they're expenseive so i never bought them BUT in my magazine there was a free sample for one so i tried it and WOW they really got a lot of..gunk (lol) out. It was really sick but really interesting i'm sure i looked like a complete tard standing there staring at the results but whatever.

has anyone used these for a prolonged period of time, if so were the results good?
Does anyone have any other black head removing ideas??

I have blackheads on my nose that aren't too noticeable as well! I always wanted to try the strips but I wasn't sure if it was worth it since it's usually quite expensive for not too many strips.
I don't have any ideas on how to remove them but I'm really interested in hearing suggestions from other people too.
(I hope you don't mind me posting here with no solution to the question.)

I've tried the strips once before because I had a sample, but I don't remember it doing much. I think that was because I didn't really have any blackheads or anything.
But now I think I have another sample somewhere and I want to try it again, because I definitely have some blackheads now.

Also, I remember finding this recipe for a blackhead scrub and it worked amazing. It was like mashed strawberries and grated almonds scrubbed on and then washed off.
EDIT: I found the recipe!

Strawberry Almond Scrub

Strawberries have natural astringent properties that tighten your pores, and leave your face feeling toned and fresh.

2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ground almond
1 ripe strawberry (if fresh strawberries aren't available, it's ok to use thawed, frozen berries)

Mix the almonds and soda together in a small dish.
Slice the strawberry into the bowl and mash it all together to make a smooth paste.

Apply.

To Apply:
1. First splash your face with warm water (never hot).
2. Scoop the scrub onto your fingers and work it all over your face using gentle circular motions. Never press hard or tug on your skin. Avoid your eye area.
3. Rinse your face with warm water then pat it dry with a clean, soft towel.
