Well, my grandparents love my cousin a lot more than any of their other grandchildren. She's so perfect. I hate her. She's the oldest and she's SO ignorant, she's said so many arrogant things to my family. She's just like that, she thinks she's fucking god.
I live in the country and my grandparents are very old fashion, they also live here. My cousin lives in the city. She is basically a prep. Me and my sister aren't so much of preps. We dress how we want. My grandfather probably thinks we're fucking rejects or something for dressing the way we do. He's the most old fashion person alive.
Anyways, I was supposed to go to Greece and Italy on March 5th. My mum and dad saved the money in an rrsp account (saves up over time) but you can't open it until a certain date. And they can't open it untl April. So they asked my grandparents if they could loan them the money until the account opened up and they'd pay them back.
My grandparents said no.
I can't even believe it. I didn't think they hated me that much. This was the trip of my life time, and they think it's stupid. They said it wasn't worth it to spend that much money on a 10 day trip (mind you, it was $3000). But my parents were so excited for me to go. They are absolutely torn. I haven't spoken to my grandparents since and I never will again. They wouldn't NEVER done this to my cousin
So, this march break, I will sit at home, watching tv, while my friends are in Rome, Athens, and other just normal places, you know.. ERGHHHHHHHHHHHH _________________ aka;

I know how you feel, since I'm going through a simular situation, although the favoritism is actually based on my mom and uncles: My mom was firstborn, then my uncle Toni, but when the youngest came my grandparents let him get whatever he wanted and never have to work while my mom and other uncle had to work on the farm basically as slaves My mom had me first and swore she wouldn't have any others because she didn't want the same thing to happen to me, the middle one had no children, and the youngest had two. My two cousins are the rudest most arrogant girls I've ever seen in my entire life (I've seen a more arrogant boy so...) even though they're 3 and 5 years younger than me. They act exactly like their mother and of course my grandparents like them better -_- We haven't talked to them in many years...
I hope you'll somehow be able to go... _________________ ...DArk duCKY..

I hope you'll be able to go on your trip in the end too!
I hate it when people take sides and decide to just like one person more than the other with no particular reason.
It's happened to me with friends (though not with relatives) but I can just imagine how much worse you must be feeling than I was since mine was only with friends while yours is with family.

Oh gosh, that really blows. I'm really sorry...maybe you can like..hm...raise money? I know you probably don't want to seem like a charity case, but you know...Europe's beckoning you!
Sorry, I don't know how else to help |

aw im sorry that really sucks
maybe you can ask to borrow the money from other family members or close family friends. make sure that you say that you HAVE the money but you just cant access it.
couldnt you also talk to the bank and check if you could somehow change the date, or if you take it out possibly having to pay a penalty.
thats all i can think of.
all the best to you! |

hmm.
that's a tough situation and i am very sorry to hear they said no. i would beg them, seriously. actually, i'd sit down and talk with them, tell them how important it is to you, and see if they've ever been anywhere, maybe they could relate.
then bribe them with souvenirs.
perhaps you could find someone else to loan the money? who does not mind. like a close family friend or something.
best of luck! _________________

Ah, I wish there was a solution to this. But there isn't. It's a school trip and it's scheduled for March 5th, and I had to have my money in a few days after we asked. There's no way I can go now. It's a helpless feeling.
I still haven't spoken to them, I probably never will again. Thinking that doesn't faze me a bit, I'm glad to know maybe they'll feel half the embaressment I do. _________________ aka;
