|

hey everyone i need some help!
i finally decided on getting a new ipod after my old one broke, and i was planning on getting the 80gb ipod classic all along, until the pink 8gb nano recently came out.
i REALLY REALLY love the pink on the nano (i've been always saying that i would get a nano if it was pink), but the thing is that it only holds 8gb of music and currently i have 16gb of music on my itunes. i don't know if i can cut back my music in half (and i was planning on putting podcasts & videos on as well).
so i have a dilemna!! i'm inching towards the classic (as i'll basically never run out of space on my ipod), but i'm thinking if i'm going to regret not buying the pink ipod after (there's around a $60 difference between the nano & classic for like 70gb space lol)
also, if anyone has the new nano/classic, please post on what you think of it/how well it works/flaws, etc.

I kind of have the same dilemma. I broke my ipod back in like, November and since then I've been searching for a replacement. I really really like the way the new nanos look, but I, like you, have like 16 gigs of music on my computer. I myself am going to go for the classic or the touch (I haven`t decided yet), cause I don`t think I will be able to sacrifice much, if any of my music. I think I rather have all my music then have a flashy MP3 player. Then again, that really depends on you, cause if you think you can cut your music in half (keep in mind that 8 gigs is a lot of music to get rid of!) then by all means go for the nano!
If you want to put podcasts and videos though, and are already at like 16 gigs, I would go for the classic. Then you`ll have lots of space for everything! |

| i say get the classic, i think that it would be such a hassle to have to choose which songs you put on your ipod, and everytime you get new music, it's like, you have to get rid of some old songs to be able to put it on your ipod so i say, def go for the classic and wowowo 16gb of music is a lot ! |

Honestly, I'd say go for the Classic. What it all boils down to is... I think you'd be a lot happier with your full music collection, rather than sacrificing your playlist for a specific iPod colour. You could always buy a pink Belkin aluminum or metal case (solid-colour front, clear back) for your iPod. _________________ I think you're just so pleasant, I would like you for my own... |

Thanks for all your advice & opinions!
I think I'm most likely going to end up getting the 80gb classic, so i know i won't have to give up any of my music, and i'll probably just get a pink case/skin or whatever lol. i think for like a $60 difference, the classic is way better! (why can't they make classics in colour... lol) but i have a feeling that the pink nano is going to be very popular too, it's adorable!!
i wonder why they don't have the purple in nano, but only in shuffle :S |

I think you should get the Classic, you shouldn't have to sacrifice your music! I have a nano and I love it, but I don't have a ton of music so it's perfect.
Hope you like the one you get _________________ Formerly lil_sweetiepoo on old fashion18.com

I say go for the classic, you can always get a cover for it.
If you have alot of music its more worth the price then the nano _________________

i also think you should get the classic because like everybody else said 8G is a lott of music to cut back on...
plus with the classic you get a bigger screen and since you said you were planning to put videos on it, that would be better! _________________

i got the 80gb classic a bit more than a month ago and i've already had to replace it twice. last time i went to get it replaced the guy told me that the difference between nanos and classics (besides looks and storage) is that the classics have this spinning harddrive (or something like that..) so when you drop them or they knock onto something really hard, they'll malfunction really bad. I never dropped or knocked my ipod and i had to replace it twice! it's frustrating, but it all depends on how much storage you need ! if you don't like the colour of a classic you can always get a case _________________

classic!
i run out of space on my 4 gb all the time..yeah that's not very much is it
it used to be a lot...but now it's not.
anyway you'd probably want a case for a nano to protect it and then the pink would get covered (even though I know a lot of people don't use cases). like everyone else said..opt for the pink case..or maybe a skin for the classic.
yeah i know i basically restated what everyone said.
i am jealous my mp3 player doesn't hold much. but i do have a lot of songs--though i can't imagine having 16gb! _________________

I'd go for an iPod classic. If you have a competent computer and can put videos on it, go for it. I bought myself an 8 gig nano, because I didn't have a decent computer, but now I do and I find myself having to be extremely selective with my 45 gig itunes library...
Anyway, I had a classic a couple years ago, and I adored it. You just have to take a bit more care of it than with a nano, but in the end I think it's worth it... |
