What is this year's big trend with regard to shoes?
I ask this, because I need some new shoes. Now, I know ballet flats are still in style, and people wear boots for winter and stuff. This spring I'll be going overseas and I'd like to get some new shoes before I go, that are comfortable yet trendy.
Does everyone remember when skate shoes were THE shoes to have? Everyone had them. There were the days of Phat Farms, then Etnies, DC, Vans, etc. Maybe that was just where I lived, I don't know. But I'm starting to see less and less people wearing them and even I'm getting sick of them, although I don't mind them. Lately I've noticed girls are wearing pumas, and Nike and Adidas shoes that look like pumas, which I think are a bit more feminine.
What are some recommendations of shoes to get and places to get them?
What shoes do you plan on wearing this spring and summer? _________________

I soooo remember skate shoes
at my school, pumas aren't "in" but lots of people still wear them because they go well with their athletica pants.
I'd say flats, ankle boots, flip flops.
I see more and more guys wearing dc shoes, and girls leaning to more of a fashion side. _________________

I would go for Keds, but not necessarily the more "fashion" ones if you actually want to be fashion forward. Try the champions in a solid colour. _________________

I think flat boots were really huge this year. Unfortunately, I never found a pair just right for me.
In terms of personal preference, I can never get enough of my Converse. I LOVE THEM! They basically work with anything, punky, preppy, casual.
Ballet flats are a must. Blacks and bright colours, I think.
And like electricpearls mentioned, gladiator sandals are gorgeous!
My advice is simple, just go with what looks/feels best. You can't go wrong there! _________________

Hi st3ph,
If I had to bet on this, I'd go for the gladiator sandals! I recently have checked them in here:
-link edited out-
and immediately began to read in fashion magazines that these could be great this year.

I usually go to Stoneridge for shoes-because the price (for the most part) is about the same as Aldo but they have some funkier styles.
If you have an Urban Outfitters-they have some really cool shoes. I bought some adorable polka dot flats and they're quite reasonable.
Like everyone else said-flats, flats, flats. I find runners too hot in the summer-especially with socks. And some funky sandals are awesome too |

Cute flats are always a must.
Ankle boots are realllly cute this year as well.
For spring, get some cute sandles, like gladiators or t-straps! |

I agree and i've seen UO has new shoes that are similar to keds' champions. I bought a pair in navy like last year at winners, it was a good buy! But i don't know where to find them now |

I'm planning to start buying flats now.. and wear them once in a while.. so by the time its spring, they're all comfy and no blisters.
also I always thought that nine west had really expensive shoes.. but I just found out that their shoes are actaully cheap.. so I'll start shopping there. _________________ Dude_89 |

| keds are cute but not really in the fashion forward sense. personally(im not sure if this is helping) i wanna get gladiator sandles and from reading the other topics ive noticed other people want them too..so they'll probably be popular this summer. |

I would personally get gladiator sandals as well. They have that spring and summer feel, and they're quite comfy!
I agree with one of the previous posts, runners are way too hot for the summer. Plus, if you get runners you could only really match them with jeans. In my opinion, runners with shorts or anything other than sweats/jeans look horrible :\ |
