wisdom teeth

hey everyone, im getting my wisdom teeth out soon *cringe*. i just wanted to know, have any of you gotten them out? how many? how much did it hurt? how long were you off school for? etc. etc. also, if you've gotten it done, do you have any advice for me?!

well.
first, are you being put under anesthetic?
I got all four pulled at once. And I was under anesthetic. So the actually getting it done was not so bad.
Couple pieces of advice: ice, ice, ice, ice your face. at night make sure you sleep with your head elaveted as well to keep from major swelling. Advice from my mum: Do not having raspberry smoothies. She got the seeds stuck in one of the holes, it got infected, and she ended up not being able to open her mouth..at all. But the things I found to help were ice, proping head up, rinse mouth with saltwater, and if you drool a lot after the surgery do not feel stupid. Everyone does it. ahaha

Oh, and have no fear..despite thinking you will never be able to brush your teeth or eat again..you will be able too.

Right and I took four days off of work. Probably could have done with five days.

good luck! my friend just got two of hers out last week and she said that right after it's pulled out, it didnt really hurt that much but there are some bits of pain in the next two days or so. and she missed one day of school because her face was still puffy. Razz

I'm getting my wisdom teeth out in May as well... I'll be out of school, though, so I won't be able to have that as an excuse to miss any unfortunately.

wellll i got em out tuesday
it wasnt as painful as i thought it would be after..its just been hard. healing is so annoying..im so sick of eating jello and stuff you wouldnt believe. haha. thanks for all the advice everyone! Happy

ouchh! is surgery really required with the incisions and all? my wisdom teeth are beginning to erupt and the pain iss so unbearable. is the toooth removed while its still growing or after a couple months?

^you should make an appointment with an oral surgeon for a consultation or talk to your dentist.

my wisdom holes got infected! @*Y@%*^*#%^&*%#^ it was so unfortunate because i was in montreal and one night i got shooting pain in my gums so bad i couldnt stop bawling.
