Well, for starters, what brand and style of jeans did you get? Cause some brands DO stretch, well others do not. So let me know this info before I can help you!
(My jeans are always washed in cold water and hang dried, no matter what brand!) |

| Yes, you should wash them before you get them hemmed. I just wash my jeans in cold water and either hang dried or tumble dried, depending on how lazy I am. |

oh yeah wash them before you get them hemmed. most jeans do tend to stretch or shrink.
I was them in cold water and sometimes let them air dry, i'm too lazy sometimes hah. so i do i put it on tumble dry low. and a lot of people have told me to wash them inside out to prevent fading. _________________

ditto.
im not gonna even bother writing that again.
except that sometimes my jeans get too tight when i dry them in the dryer, and sometimes i don't like the stiffness they get from hanging them. so it depends on what i'm feeeelin that day
sidenote: i don't own any designer ones though.. _________________

I wash mine in cold water, and hang dry MOST of them.
I stick my R&Rs in the dryer, but I'm trying to shrink them (they stretch out sooo bad). R&Rs don't shrink much though, unfortunately, _________________

^ the fact that you're throwing them in the dryer trying to shrink them might be what is causing them to stretch out so much even though ive heard r&rs stretch a lot
throwing your jeans in the dryer actually breaks down the lycra / spandex that provides the stretch in your jeans (hence why you dont throw your swimsuit in the dryer) |

^I know, I usually care for my jeans well. I've lost alot of weight and I don't really wear them often so when I do, the only way I can wear them is by sticking them in the dryer. R&Rs cannot shrink in other ways, I've heard of people boil-shrinking but you can't do that with R&R. _________________

^Omg, R&R's stretch an insane amount. But, I don't recommend putting any jeans in the dryer, it is just bad for them.
It doesn't really matter what detergent you use, haha. Just don't get the cheap stuff that makes you itchy. |

^Yeah, I'm actually a bigger fan of COH or 7FAM. I don't think I'm going to buy R&R again, after all the trouble they've given me. My Citizens are stretch but they never get to big, no matter how much I wear them. _________________

^Yeah, for the price that they usually cost, I don't consider them to be worth it, quality-wise. _________________

| how do you guys feel about hemming your jeans width wise after they stretch out? my seamstress says she can do anything but i've never asked her about hemming it in the butt to make it more fitted. have any of you guys ever tried it? |
