| A few friends of mine have already applied to schools and some have not yet. I haven't gone around to start applying, because i've been so busy with school and such. Would this be a good time to apply? Or should i have applied earlier?? |

| You should really talk to you guidance cousellers about it. But, I am applying now. The reason being I want a spot in residence .. the hard part is not getting in it is getting in residence! But if you are not applying for residence there is no big rush. But check all the deadlines on the universitys that you want to go to so you are not suprised. |

If you are applying to a college, it is first come first serve so you should apply ASAP. If you are applying for university you can start applying now till about the end of Febrauary. _________________

I didn't apply until well into December, I think even after Christmas, and I never encountered any problems. As for residence, I'm pretty sure most universities guarantee first year students a spot if they follow all the procedures and such. _________________

My school hasn't recieved the OUAC codes yet either.. we're getting them December 6th. I'm applying as soon as I get it so it's over and done with. I don't have a lot of spare time.
As for residence you apply when the university sends you an offer of admission... Most schools garantee a spot in residence for all first years though. There's a lot of factors that go into it. |

We got our pins last week, and I just submitted my applications today.
The process itself is very quick if you know your program choices already.
All you do is enter the program codes, confirm your address and personal info, answer some simple additional questions and then submit the application. It probably took me 15 mins in total. _________________

| The quicker you apply, the quicker they review your application, the quicker you get a spot reserved for you. |

^ Is that really true? Don't they usually have a cut-off date...cause obviously they want to offer their spots to the best applicants, so wouldn't they wait for the cut off date, review all the applications and take the best? If you get what I mean, cause if you just review them as they come and take the ones that only satisfy the admission requirements you're likely missing out on some other students who might be be even more qualified but handed in their applications later.
They might review as applications come in, but I doubt that applying early (unless you're applying for early admissions) really has much of an effect on whether you get in, I mean it is competitive admission...so as long as you get your application in by their deadline then it's all good. |
