I was just looking at their kids stuff and there is a sweater for a little boy that is $160!!! Who in their right mind buys that! Its going to fit them for like only months!

I was going to suggest looking at their american website but it seems like it wont allow me too!

I don't know the exact difference but it isn't THAT big. I was in Buffalo a couple of weeks ago and I bought an A&F knit shirt for $39.99 and later I looked on the website at home and the same shirt was $45.50. I guess it depends when you go and also what you buy.

Actually, I just went to Buffalo last week, and I finally saw the price differences. At Hollister, most of the clothes, like the fleece hoodies, are very similar to AE prices, so you can definitely check out the AE site for prices. Abercrombie's prices range around $70 per hoodie and so on. So roughly, just subtract about 10 dollars from the Canadian price, and then that will be the American price.

That applies for items below like..80 bucks.
If it's 80 USD it's probably 100 in CDN.
if 100 USD, about 130 in CDN.
if 150 USD, about 200 CDN.

it sucks (for us) @ this exchange rate...Sad

I've found that there's definitely a price difference. I think I've mentioned this in a post before, but it's such a big difference that Canadian shoppers are automatically directed to the Canadian site so they can't see the American prices.

^Sadly, that seems about right.

Oh yeah. That's true. Anything over $80 is usually alot more here. I didn't realize that, since I didn't really look at the winter coats, etc.

Though, I find it really sad, because ever since the Canadian dollar has become what it is today, I no longer shop here in Toronto. I just wait until my family and I drive down the QEW... Sad

exactly! I was trying to find out how much the A&F bomber is for US dollars, but it keeps redirecting to the Canadian A&F site....I regret not buying it in Seattle cuz I remember that was only below 150 and it's 200+ on the Canadian site...

If there is a specific item you want to know about you could always call their customer service and ask the price comparison.

actually, when I last went shopping in the states,
my friend pickedup a hoodie for $60. and that was regular price.
so basically.. if the dollar is still low, $55. and if not. probably... $70

yes prices are much cheaper in US. hoodies at hollister are about $40. jeans are $40. knits are between $20-$30. abercrombie&fitch jeans are about $80. hoodies are around $60. and normal knits vary bewteen $20-$50. but both are always having sales so when you go in the stores, you can dig to find something good.

Definitely. They're always having sales, so definitely take the time to look around if you go. I actually got an AE polo for $9.50! Very Happy

It all depends on the time of the year you go. This weekend is going to be hella good sales, and same with boxing day! Also, Bellis Fair mall has higher prices than malls a bit farther away from the border. Last year, at Alderwood Mall on boxing day, I got an abercrombie tee for on five dollars! Which is amazing for abercrombie haha.

thanks for the replies (: ! i went down to buffalo to do some shopping and ifound out sadly that there is barely a price difference, maybe $1-10 max and you'd be lucky to find $5-10 off :S . but i fit in abercrombie kids and if you do too you should DEFINITELY GO THERE to shop. www.abercrombiekids.com , if you dont know the website

i didnt go into hollister tho. since a&f prices were the same i just assumed the hollister prices were too

Well our dollar is good right now, so there is no difference in the price (we actually get a better deal). Abercrombie has some great deals right now. Recently, I have gotten a babydoll style sweater, for $25 off, hoddie for $35 off, sweats for $30 off. Hollister also has really good deals right now. They are getting in all of their new spring items right now, so they are clearing out lots of items. Also, if you an fit abercrombie kids, the stuff in there is SOOOOO cheap! And it is like the same things, but like 1/4 of the price.

Our dollar is about the same, and because the price differences are about $10 or more (depending on the item), we aren't really getting the better deal. Neutral

errrr we get ripped off on all the clothes we purchase at any A&F or hco store.. i'm pretty sure that's why we can't access the american site, the prices are all cheaper there.

haha me too! Laughing

well once I bought this sweater at Hollister in the states for $39.50 and in Canada it was the same price so it kinda sucked, haha. The difference for Hollister in Canada vs. the States isn't much of a difference, but I found that Abercrombie has much of a bigger difference, e.x. sometimes up to $50 more in Canada than in the States.

Oh yeah, I forgot that Vancouver doesn't have one yet. We have two stores here in Toronto, but I still wait to buy things in Buffalo. I know $10 dollars isn't much, but I'm cheap. Sue me. LOL. =P

haha me too! it hurts my soul.

i hate that there's only 2 abercrombies and hollisters in canada so everyone flockss to those stores and causes huuuge lineups just to get in. i had to wait like an hour standing in line to get in and then standing in line again for the cash register just to RETURN something. hollister and its tiny, dark, fake palm filled, congested stores make me MAD.
