|
|
I know that I'm at a healthy weight and I don't need to lose any, but i want to lose about 5 pounds. Not for anybody else, just to make myself a bit more comfortable with my body. The problem is that when i stop myself from eating something not so good, i think, well its not like i really need to lose any, and i eat it. Ive gained a few pounds over the last month just because of Bday cake, and grandmas cooking I keep telling myself that tomorrow I will start eating healthier, and I will until about mid afternoon and it all goes downhill. I guess its not like I eat really badly, i eat a really healthy breakfast, but then I snack alot in between meals. And i use to exercise almost every day but since school started I feel to drained to after school. Any help please? Thanks. _________________ *parting is such sweet sorrow*

| I think the exercise is whats really key for you. If you are already a pretty healthy weight then it will be hard to lose any weight by eating a bit healthier. You would more just maintain, which is good to but if you want to lose I think you are gonna have to get your butt moving!!! |

| I agree, I also think that it helps to set a certain time for exercise and that way you have to do it. Either wake up half an hour earlier and do it in the morning so that its done or just do easy things like walking the dog or walking to get the mail. Whenever you feel like eating when you arent actaully hungry (im not saying to ignore your growling stomach) have a glass of water or do 5 push ups. |

I'm kind of the same way but the reason it goes down hill in the afternoon is because your blood sugar drops. You crave sugary food after school, you eat junk, you are happy but still hungry. Try to eat yogurt or apples or something after school.
Also, I find I'm really tired after school. You could be low in iron, I am so I take iron pills. Meat also has iron in it, so you get more energy from eating meats. I think I go to bed way too late for the time I get up in the morning. Last night I went to bed at 12:30, and I slept in today till 2pm! :O clearly I've been lacking sleep, since I usually go to bed around 11:30 for school (1 hour earlier than last night) and I get up at 7:30. No wonder I'm so dead. I suggest more sleep!
I think it's a lot easier for me to exercise if I plan to go to the gym with my friends. We try and go fairly often, and I'm more motivated if I go with them. It's so much more fun at the gym. It's right next to our school so going there is pretty convenient. _________________

^Yupp, I am almost like you!
I am an iron-deficient and B12-deficient anemic so I take both B12 and iron pills every day. Vitamin C is also very important because it aids in iron absorption.
If you're craving something sugary to raise your blood glucose levels as st3ph said, try something with a complex carbohydrate. Avoid simple carbs like enriched wheat products, candy bars, etc. Eat something with whole wheat (if you are eating a bread product).
The complex carbs take a longer time to digest and raise the glucose levels slowly so you don't experience the highs and lows you might with a simple carb. This is why a complex carb will keep you fuller longer, and in turn might aid in weight loss.
Remember, you might dread exercise and you might feel lazy and such, but exercising releases endorphins which make you HAPPY! :icon_yahoo: _________________
