i tried it and really enjoyed it when i was about 11..at a camp..and i really wanted to continue and take lessons, but it's really expensive. just one lesson is like 45$ depending on where you go, and equipment's a lot.

but it's really fun and good exercise [suprisingly] too! have fun!

Sweet, I caught on to posting pretty easily too when I started but the hard thing for me was finding my canter seat Rolling Eyes And I still have a terrible seat at the canter!

What type of riding are you going into?

I have a question for everyone,
Since i'm going horseback riding soon and it's like my first time (i've been horseback riding when i was little but only once and I don't even remember going so it doesn't really count)
And i'm kind of scared that i'll embarass myself, but still excited.
So does anyone have any tips for me?
Is it hard or scary or anything when you go?
PLEASE, anything will help me,
And i'm worried that we'll go down a hill and i'm extremely scared of that.

oh and i'm going on like a field trip to a farm so do you think we'll go fast? I hope not

Sorry, if nothing made sense, i'm just really teffified to go

A trail ride? If its with a field trip with school you can be sure it will be super safe because of legal issues, lol.
Trail rides are pretty much the easiest type of riding to do, also the most enjoyable sometimes. Basically you just have to sit there, and your horse will follow the one in front of you.. usualy no steering is involved. If you go down a hill, just put your heels down and lean slightly back. This will make your position steady and you won't have a chance of falling =)
I can pretty much guarantee that you will be walking the entire time - so, no, you won't be going fast.
But don't worry about it! Happy It will be so fun - I promise. There is really not much danger on trail rides, just relax and have fun.
