Okay.. I feel like such an annoying prick now... but whatever...
I currently have a job now, and I just finished one month of probation (my probation is 3 months). However, I got hired somewhere else, and I'd rather work there. The place where I work right now is pretty chill, and the people there are nice, so I'm kind of.... blahhh about telling them that I want to quit. :S
So, how should I put it? And do I still ahve to give them two weeks notice? I remember my friend telling me how if I wanted to quit, I can quit anytime because I was still on probation (when I first started at my previous job). |

That happened with my friend, only she didn't even wait for the end of probation. Her other job opportunity popped up after only working about a month.
I'd say you should leave 2 weeks notice, to stay in their good books in case you ever want to go back. You can tell them your reasons, you found a better job. They're just going to have to accept it. That happened a few times at my work and my managers weren't angry. _________________

Hm, alright.
Well, I ended up telling my manager today, and I told her the truth, that I got hired somewhere else, and that's it's easier for me to get there. However, since school is starting REAL soon, I'm only available to work during the weekends, and that's what I said for BOTH places. So now that's a conflict.. >< The place I work at, they're most likely going to make me work off the two weeks. But the thing is, I won't be able to make it because I'll be working at the other place... >=T
Do you think it's wise to just... skip? My friend suggested that, since that's what he did for his last place. Also, there's this girl who work's at my place who doesn't show up for a lot of her shfits (maybe that's why they always call me in to work.. >=T) yet she's still on the schedule. Should I just should up whenver I can without calling? Or should I just call in when I can't work? I don't have seniority, plus I'm just part-time and still on probation.. :S |
