^True-I tend to stick to my own area of the mall too since my breaks are never long enough for me to do much besides sit in the back room for a quick nap or dash out for a Starbucks :P

^Yeah. I haven't started yet and I can already tell that 15 minutes for a break isn't very long at all. I would probably have to RUN to somewhere (like McD's) and back just to get a quick snack. Luckily, Starbucks isn't too far away... lol Razz

I could visit if I wanted, though... but that might be a bit weird. Razz

^ i'm pretty sure in 15mins you wouldnt have time for mcdix (N)
although you could get there in time and back, you wouldn't have enough for the lineups ..

i think starbucks is a better bet, even though they have lineups too, lol

^^Haha nah I wouldn't be weirded out-I'm usually just standing around with my coworker bored outta our minds :P
I always bring dinner because I don't want to have McDonald's all the time-if I need a snack I usually get a smoothie from Orange Julius.

Congrats to everyone who got a job and good luck to everyone applying! :icon_yahoo:

Right now I work at a private school somewhere near me... I pretty much just look after the children. I really like the job, but I'm actually just supersuper lucky because I don't deserve it Neutral

But I really want to work at the Gap. I saw a sign posted for help, but I'm only 16 and everyone there looks like they are in post-secondary or have already graduated. Then again, I did see a schoolmate apply, and I really do like the store... I wonder what the employee discount rate is... hehe.

congratulations to everyone who got a job!!! im still looking for one -.-

anyways...http://www.bcfed.ca/petition/minimum_wage, visit that website!! 8) Very Happy pretty please! ;)_orange

and lime stars: i think you go online to apply for the gap...i wanted to hand my résumé to old navy before but instead, they gave me a card to apply on a website. so i went there and filled in the stuff but in the end, i couldnt apply because i wasnt 16 yet. Confused btw, the website was for the company that made gap, oldnavy, and banana republic.

^I get one drink 30 minutes before a shift, one drink per break, one drink 30 minutes after a shift. Free box of tea/coffee every week, 30% off drinks, pastries, etc. at ALL starbucks locations (that is what made me want the job, I go to starbucks every day, I could sure use the discount!).

I'm working at a nail salon as a receptionist in Kerrisdale now!

I actually got offered a job at Plenty also but I'm going to call to turn it down-I LOVE LOVE LOVE Plenty but I feel like I need a change from retail, that's why I decided on the salon job instead.

^$9.50 is what I'm starting with... that includes all the benefits. I got my free pound of coffee this week, it's actually super worth it because I got Medium Columbia and for me its free but for everyone else its $15.00.

The discount is super useful because its applicable at any Starbucks store... the discounts are 30%.

Free drinks are lovely Happy Today I had myself a grande peppermint mocha and zen green tea on the house!

^^You have to be 16. I started out on espresso bar so I'm pretty much great with any hot drink, and I started POS training (training for cash) yesterday. They will eventually train you for everything, I'm also training for drive-thru since my Starbucks is a drive-thru location.

^Angelino, if you're 16 you can always work for the Memorial/Edmonton Starbucks Happy
