I haven't used it personally but whenever I discover a product that I'm interested in, I go to makeupalley.com where members can review it. I searched MAC blot powder and you can click below for the review on how it fairs as well as the price, quality etc. (I'm not sure if you can read product reviews without signing up as a member but I suggest you do sign up because it's free!)

Hey I've used the MAC blot powder for a long time now...I've almost finished my 2nd compact and 1 compact lasts around a year (for me) used on a daily basis (throughout the day). My skin is the oh-so-dreaded oily type and I find that the blot powder works quite well. However, it doesn't last as long as I'd like (only around 4 hours for me), despite what many reivews have said, but maybe it's just my skin. It doesn't layer on too thick at all and it's very unnoticable. Actually I've never tried a drugstore brand for powder, since drugstore makeup usually disappoints me and I waste a lot of money. When I was looking around for powders I decided to spend the extra money on a good brand that many people said worked. MAC blot powder is $24, but since i'm only buying it once a year I'd say it's a good price. There are also other "high end" brands, like my friend uses a powder by Clinique (I can't remember the name). I'm pretty happy with all the MAC makeup though, so for me I'm sticking to the blot powder. Hope this helped!

I tried it when i had my makeup done, and I would probably get it later on. For powder it's a good solid product. I've tried LAncome and liked the MAC one better. My friend had Clinique and hated it, plus it made her break out. She has MAC now and it hasn't doen anything to her sensitive skin and looks great.

It was the compact one, I prefer pressed than loose, but they are both the same product I think, it's really just what you prefer. Why not go in and ask a sales person to choose the right shade for you, then you can decide whet her you think you like it and if it irritates your ski at all.
