Hello, I have a math test tomorrow on line segments and I have no idea how to do a question from my textbook! Could someone help me understand it please?

and sorry about making this in the wrong section...I thought it'd get more views but I think i posted it a little bit too late so I might just have to go early to school to ask my teacher tomorrow. D: But you can move this post to Alma Matter. (:
The answer in the back of the book says: C(4,5), D(5,1) :S

| im sorry this is no help cause i don't understand the question but i have to agree that math 10 is actually really hard. i HATE functions and RADICALS ! they are killer. |
