So I bought these shoes off of Delias online.
Description:
| Quote: | | Canvas upper; rubber bottom. By Blowfish. Black, Black Multi(Floral), Black Tac (Tic Tac), Blue Multi (Tic Tac), Grey, Purple. Whole and half sizes: 6-9, 10. Imported. Catalog and web exclusive |
I got them today, except they're a little different. The bottom rubber part is black, which I don't mind, and like better.
But the sole isn't rubber. It's like.. felt. Maybe it's microfiber. So it seems like there would be no grip. At least not on a smooth surfaced floor, like the halls at school where I will wear them a ton.
Does anyone have these and have the same thing with theirs? _________________

I don't have them, but I think rubber would be way more durable!!! A fabric kind of bottom would get dirty and wear down much faster. But I really like them, they're cute! Isn't that kind of false advertising then? I would maybe call or email them about it. Cause I wouldn't want microfibre on a rainy or snowy day. _________________

^Yeah, I was thinking of calling. Would I just call the number that they give you for returns? _________________

I looove them! I saw them on UO's site a while ago and again at Stoneridge, but that has nothing to do with your question. I agree, you should call and ask about that. You could try calling/emailing Delia's too, they could've sent you a similar style instead of what you ordered? _________________

^I was looking at the site, and it's not mistaken for anything else that I can see.
I'll try calling Delias tomorrow and see what they have to say.
Also, I looked up it on Google and I guess that's how most of their Hobbit sneakers are made. So maybe I'll have to end up returning them (which would be such a hassle).
I guess I could always get similiar ones from Aldo... but I love these ones. _________________

| If it says that it's supposed to be rubber and it's not, you definitely have a reason to complain, plus it doesn't look like how the picture you saw looked like, which is another reason to complain. Definitely call them up. I wouldn't keep them if they were like a felt bottom, I'd feel like they'd break down really quickly! |

^Yeah, it's really weird. They have the rubber siding on the bottom, and I think a rubber base, but then there's just felt or whatever on the bottom. _________________

I once had sandals that I wore on the pool deck when I used to swim and they had that felt-ish bottom (and on the top, so the whole shoe was the same material). About six months into it, the felt-ish part was getting all weird and loose, so I ripped it off. It was then just that sandal material underneath. It didn't effect the durability at all. _________________

So I kind of procrastinated and got busy and forget to call.
Also, I was searching and I read somewhere that Blowfish sells some sort of .. cover.. that you can put over top of it? So there's grip? I might look into that as well. _________________

| i bought a pair of boots like that too actually... i didnt realize the bottoms had material on them until i got home though. i bought them in the states so i couldnt return them anyways. i just wore them to school and eventually the fabric part just wore off... underneath theres an actual rubber sole so i wonder if yours have that too? i dont understand what the point of having felt/fabric/whatever it is on the bottom though... walking on the sidewalk wore mine off in no time. |

^Well that's good to know. If all all fails I'll just do laps around my street until the wear down haha.
I just don't want to wear them at school and then slip in the hallways. _________________
