^That's a good book.
I liked most of Sarah Dessen's books and they aren't massive.
Scroll through the What Are You Reading Now thread and see what people have been reading. _________________

yay! love reading, love promoting reading too! Have you joined Teen SRC? Do they have it there? Cause... with 100 books, you could win A LOT of prizes!
I agree with DeadDisco, Sarah Dessen has good books that aren't extremely long. Robert Cormier is also a favourite of mine, the Chocolate War was good and I couldn't stop crying after reading I Am the Cheese.
Jodi Picoult is another favourite but her books are much longer. My Sister's Keeper and the Pact are my favourites.
If you have time, the Time Traveler's Wife is definitely worth reading. So are Kite Runner and a Thousand Splendid Suns!
for Funny, I'd read the Confessions of Georgia Nicoloson and the shopoholic series. Quick reads, anything by Meg Cabot, especially her earlier novels written in email/letter form are funny and easy to read and understand.
Mystery and Suspense, you can't deny Christie Agatha, she is a classic mystery writer!
Historical Fiction, Georgia Phillpa is a favourite <3!!! She's best known for writing the Other Boleyn girl but honestly, she's written better. The latest in the Boleyn series in the Boleyn Inheritance and that has been my favourite so far. Though her books are quite long~
I'll add more when I can think of it
Happy reading! _________________ [aka mitsukoshi]

Oh yes, The Time Traveller's Wife is really good. And I've heard great things about The Kite Runner, and want to read it soon.
I also liked,

thanks so much, girls!
i love the lists, it makes things so much easier.
but i do usually like to read funny books or ones that the author has some kind of sense of humor.
i dont usually go for the 'history-ish' books, but ill try them out. i trust your judgements!
there was this one book i read, i really wish i rememberd its name. i hope someone recognizes it. it was about this guy that liked to write alot. he was in love with his bestfriend and occasionally hed talk about his life then theyd show his writing/diary in italics and i remember one entry said something like 'i walk away from your house after my visit. a part of me wants to look back and see if youre watching me leave" then the rest says something about how if he looks back and shes not watching him, itll hurt him. so he decided to not look back and leave it unknown..
iduno, i just hope someone has read it and recognizes what im talking about
cause ive been DYING to figure out who wrote it. i really wish i wrote it down.
i think its the best novel ive ever read. |

^^If you don't like those kind of books, try reading the Gossip Girl series! And Pretty Little Liars.
EMCEE I LOVE all the books on your list! _________________

Vivalajuicy, how many books have you read so far? I've only just gotten half way through my 30th book of the summer. A far cry from 100 I know =(
I think I was aiming a bit to high. Next summer I'll try to read 50 books, which is probably a little less ambitious. _________________

Lets see, one summer I read 75 books because I was trying to beat the amount of books Stephen King reads in a year.
Heres some:
Blue Like Jazz, Of Mice and Men, Gentelman's Agreeement, Cincinnati Yankee in King Aurther's Court, How Starbucks Saved My Life, Secret History, Persuation, Tuesdays With Morey, Walk Two Moons (again), War of the Worlds (again), My Sister's Keeper, How to Read Literature Like a Professor, Black Like Me, Invisble Man (Ellison, not Wells), Godfather, Rocket Boys, and others. that's all I can remember. _________________
