this is kind of off topic.

BUT is it ok, to kind of hate your best friend sometimes?
I have a best friend, and we didn't start off as best friends.
She was new to our school in elementary, and she would
always follow my friends and I everywhere, but never
participate in whatever we were talking about. It got really
annoying, so one day we were really (i know this is really
immature), but we tried to "ditch" her? By the time elementary
ended though, we ended up as friends. I got closer to her as
high school started, and we became best friends. It's
been soo long now, 5 years? And, now I'm starting to notice
little things that piss me off about her. The way she complains
about the stupidest things, how obsessed she is with how she
looks, the long, repeated, outplayed conversations about her
crush, and the embarrassing things that she overanalyzes.
I don't know, but I find it discomforting that I feel this way
towards someone that I consider my best friend. I want
to act like abitch to her, so she'd get away from me for once,
but then I would feel bad after. We've never really 'fought',
or had drama. I don't need any real advice, it's just I had
to get this off of my chest. Thanks.

i think its ok but maybe you should talk to her about it, like when she starts obsessing about her looks just tell her, "you look fine, stop obsessing nothing is wrong"
Sometimes i wonder why im friends with my best friends because they are so different than me and there are a lot of things that bug me about them but i realise that its ok i dont have to like every part of them and we have great times together.

ahhhh. I know EXACTLY what you are feeling. Sometimes I want to strangle one of my best friends. She can be so immature, and always complains about her life. Then whenever I say anything about how I'm having a bad day or whatever she'll be like "oh yeah, well my day was so much worse..." grrrrrrrrrrrr.

OK, seriously -- the first part of our school year is over, and it's left with so much drama to carry into the last half. Ugh, so just recently I found out that some guy likes me. Well, I was in his group in one of our classes for like a month? And, he's the type that talks a lot, annoying at times, has problems (sorry if i sound shallow, but seriously i can't act nice about this). Well, he started to talk to me a lot over Instant Messenger, and I would never talk just the basic "lols, yeah, uh huh..no, etc." never once did i tell him anything about myself, he was always the one to spill. And he has this problem with being open and trusting everyone, which is bad if you take it to the next ten levels. Yeah long story short, he likes me, but he has a girlfriend -- that he wants to break up with to ask me out, but I have to say "NO WAY". Because there's no chance ever, that I'd want to be with such a selfish, depressing, weird, lazy, stupid person like that. What should I do? Should I just avoid this situation? Or what.

Ugh. I hate it when that happens. Tell him CLEARLY "I am not interested in you." Let him know that what he's doing is wrong, doing that to his girlfriend and all.

I sometimes hate my best friend. He's always talking about himself, thinking about himself, complaining about all these things that I do agree are significant... but he keeps on complaining about them. He is a nice guy. Considerate. Really friendly. Outgoing. But whether or not he'd admit it... he's been hung up on his ex for the longest time.. and the fact that he *still* talks about how he's disappointed in her and how much of a bitch she's turned into is really annoying. I get it. You're disappointed. We *all* get it (he's one of the one-sided friendships I have).

But although he can be extremely annoying and I can never really be myself around him (we've been neighbour/friends since we were babies) since we've both changed so much, and I do hate him sometimes, I still love him like a big brother (he's 6 months older than me).

So it's okay to hate your best friend sometimes. Totally natural. You get close to someone and you know them very well... and through all that closeness you have with that person, you see their little annoying "quirks" and it's those things that just grate on your nerves. It happens to everyone.

aha, the same thing happens to me. I was like best friends with this girl last year and we were like conjoined at the hip, lol. (not literally) haha, wow, anyways, this year she started bugging me like crazy and I just kinda stopped talking to her and started ignoring her but then she was like why do u keep ignoring me and I just blew up at her. Lol, and then she apologized the next day and I felt so bad, lol. Anyways were still good friends, and I guess not everyone is perfect and sometimes they will annoy the hell out of you, but im sure theres things about me that annoys her too, so ya thats my lesson for the day, lol. wow I have alot of lols in this one, lol.. aaghaha
