Question Soo.... i've been debating with myself for a while whether or not to color my hair.
I don't think i wanna go permanent because.. welll, i can't really get back to my natural color again. but sometimes i feel like a want some change..
so here are some pics and let me know what you think.
and what color would you suggest if i did??

these were taken when i was near my sliding door so the light from outside makes more parts look more blonde and yess this is my natural hair color..

if you wanna know my skin tone the first pic kindof has a little there. but i'm not sure if you would call it olive skin tone? cuz i heard someone say that about me before.. but whatever. i'm portugese. so some ppl know my skin tone by that.. european type.

thanks in advance for ur input!

Do you have a face pic? Your skin looks really pale to me, not olive at all. Also, just because your portugese it doesn't really mean anything. I'm Italian but as white as you can get :P

I like your hair colour now, but changes are nice. Soo.. it looks like its light to medium brown with like natural blonde-ish highlights right now. I think you'd look good if you played up the natural blonde highlights that you already have throughout your base colour. Maybe get some light/medium blonde highlights? I think that would look really prettyy.

I agree, because your natural color is really pretty and I think that if you want just a little bit of change but still want your natural hair color that highlights would be a really good idea.

Well if you`re darker now, my hair colourist told me that to go back lighter you should do it by highlighting cuz it`s supposedly less damaging that way. But it`s a long process... going back every 6 weeks until the whole process is done... and it can get pricey too.

You can either grow it out =P or if your natural colour is darker than the colour you dyed it, then you just find your natural colour and dye it over everything. It will just cover your old hair. Dark dyes override the lighter ones obviously.
But your highlights will probably show through a bit like mine did. For instance when I dyed my hair red in August my highlights turned a more vibrant red. Highlights, just have to grow them out I guess.

^okay. thankyou.

one more thing, is it true that if you color your hair once that even if you grow it out or something your natural will never be the way it was before you ever did anything to it?

^no, I'm pretty sure that your "new growth" hair (as my hairdresser calls it) will be perfectly fine even if you've dyed your hair a lot. Happy that's how "growing out" old dye jobs/highlights work -- the new hair is pristine.

^great. thankyou.

Thanks for your advice everyone!
Sometime this spring i hope to get some highlights. Happy

Actually, one more thing.
What would you say is a decent price for highlights?
I'm not sure if it depends on your length of hair.. but mine is like medium length.

i just have a few questions about highlights and i did not want to make a new topic. my hair is a light brown colour and i've never dyed it before. i kind of want to get highlights but i was wondering, once you start highlighting your hair, is it hard to stop or really noticeable if you stop? i want to maybe get some subtle blond highlights but i may decide to go back to my natural colour one day. opinions?

First of all, yay to being Portuguese! =)
And I can't see the pictures but if you're olive skinned like me, I would try going a bit lighter, or really dark (like a chocolate brown)

Thanks everyone! I did get my highlights a few weeks ago, and i love them. I don't think they'll be a big problem to grow out a bit.

^^ st3ph: the method that was used on my hair was this lightener not actually blonde dye like some think. The stylist can leave it in there for a short time or long time until it's light enough. Edit: To look more natural be sure to ask for thin highlights called "weaving" where i went.
If you get subtle highlights it shouldnt' be very noticeable. But obviously, not matter how subtle it's still not your natural color. I had the same thought before i did mine but now i'll just let them grow out or if it's too obvious i'll get more. But really if i want to go back to my natural color just match it and let the dye grow out. No matter what you do to your hair you're only choices are to grow it out or cover it up.
But i'm sure you won't regret getting them.

^ and YES to bein potugese .beautiful.!! Icon_yahoo lol
