Well, we all have career goals in mind. Some of us have even accomplished those already. What are they? Happy

I wanted to be a teacher, but now I want an office job of some sort... Anything to get away from this part time server job... Just 1 more year of high school.

I want to be a lawyer when I "grow up".
So that's two more years of high school, four years for my undergrad, and three years of law school. After that, I have to article for one year.

So pretty much, 10 years until my dream career. But hopefully, the satisfaction of getting there will be worth all of it.

Right now I plan to become a dental hygienist. But I tend to change my mind very often, so we'll see what happens.

Either majoring in psychology and becoming either a therapist, child psychologist or possibly marriage counsellor.
Or becoming a social worker.
And then my friend recently gave me the idea of psychiatric nursing.
I feel like I should really know what I want, but luckily the courses I'm taking right now generally work for all three areas.

I want to be a child care provider, maybe work in a daycare or something. I helped my friend out once at her job and it was so fun and the pay is really good. If that doesn't work out or I change my mind (which I do every other week) I would love an office job, maybe a receptionist....or secretary.

I want to be a Human Resources Manager. I'm doing a degree in psychology now, so I'll have to take some business/HR courses after I graduate.

for a while i was set on becoming a CA.. i've been working in an accounting firm for over a year now, and sometime in january i completely changed my mind about it.
i'm really good at my job, and my bosses tell me i'll make a good accountant one day (not to sound like i'm bragging) but even with all that, i'm just not too happy with it. i like it as a part time job, but for a career it doesn't seem very fulfilling.
there's a lot of money in it, but there's no satisfaction. i just take companies records for a year, compile them into financial statements, do the tax returns, and move on to the next company. all i do is serve the needs of the owners of the company, trying to find ways to reduce their taxes.
i decided that i wanted a career that would do something to help people.. not just rich people trying to get richer.. but everyone. i figure if i go with politics, i'll hopefully end up with a job at the UN Human Rights Council, and then i can really be making a change in the world for people. even if it's a small change, that would be way more fulfilling than saving some rich shmo with $200,000 cash in his corporate bank account a few tax dollars.

^My parents are CPAs and are now starting their own bussiness. They say they love the fullfillment in knowing that they set up this and that. They create new solutions and so on. My mom worked for Mariot (in the financial and bussiness part, not in the hospitality part) and for Johns Hopkins (again the financial part) and set up a lot of systems they still use today. My father, at is work he is about to leave was the CFO. Yeah, so there is still some creativity and fullfillment options with accounting, it's not just behind a desk.
I may have told you something you already know, but whatever. Hope I helped.

I either want to be:

A screenwright
A director of film
A director of photography in cinema (cinemaphotographer)
Or post-porduction is pretty sweet.
A gonzo journalist
An author

I want to be all of that.

^hehe, if you become a dentist, you can make me a smile! (:

I was pretty sure what I wanted to be at the beginning of the year...but now I'm not so sure. D:
-Fashion Designer
-Fashion Merchandiser
-Bed and Breakfast Proprietor
-Daycare Worker

and now maybe something working with animals but not a vet.

I think I know what I wanna be now! I want to design children's clothing. (:

At one time all I wanted was to be a veterinarian. Now I have shifted my thoughts to family doctor.

But is that something that will make me happy? I'm not really sure.

My dream would be to write a movie, produce a movie, or even be a photographer. In a city.

At the same time I'd love to live a country life, or maybe travel the world as some sort of photographer or maybe a tour guide in Europe if I were bilingual. hmm, so many possibilities. I don't know what to choose!

Last year I thought I would like to be a doctor too but I changed my mind. There is a difference between what I can do and what I really want to do. You certainly have good marks at school and you feel pressure to become something that will earn a lot of money and give you security Neutral ! The most important is to have fun doing something. It will be sad to spend a life to do a job that we like, but not LOVE.

^My thoughts exactly.
But I'm thinking, I will probably like being a doctor.

However, I would LOVE to work with movies or do some sort of photography.
Photography is something I could do on the side for my own enjoyment though.

I think if I got to work with kids as a doctor, maybe at Sick Kids, I would really enjoy my job a lot. I'm not sure if I'd like working with seniors, although there will be a need for it.

I'm getting my degree in communications (at least right now that's what I'm planning on doing) so with that degree I can do anything HR, PR, or event planning related...if I decide to go into journalism I can use my degree too. So I've been thinking of using it for broadcast journalism, because that's a field I'm really interested in.

At the same time though, I've been throwing around the idea of going to law school and becoming a lawyer. Law is one of the big things I enjoy learning about and I am good at learning about it too (not to brag, but to make a point...I got like 114% in it during school) and I feel that I would do well in that field...but the fact that there is so much work involved kind of kills the idea for me. My parents are paying for my undergrad degree but beyond that I am on my own, and law school is sooo bloody expensive - I'm not sure if I want to pay all that for a career that I'm not sure I want to have.

So yes, that is where I am at right now.

I decided I probably don't want to be a lawyer anymore.
I am thinking of being a doctor, or something like that.
I would love to be an interior designer, wedding planner, or fashion designer, but they only way to usually make good money with those jobs are to be working with celebs.
