If anyone here thinks Miley is a bad role model, I would like to hear why! I will counter all of your arguments:D

I don't think she's a BAD role model, but I don't think she's the greatest either. There's some pretty questionable pictures of her leaking out on the internet now. But I guess she's just a 15 year old girl, so I understand. I don't know. I personally do not like her at all.

My friend sent me the video which has all the pictures. They're not that bad, but its not what I would want my kid to be looking up to...

I cant say shes a bad role model. if its about all those pictures she takes with her friends, like every 15 year old does that. shes only getting criticized because shes famous, but i guess thats the price of fame.

I chose that she's sorta a good role model because she is some of the time.
The newest pictures aren't too bad...the one of her lying on her boyfriend with her stomach showing and his hand on her hip and the one where she's exposing her bra are probably the worst ones in the bunch and they're not like crazy provocative. A while back, she had some pictures too and she was like posing in her undies and taking pictures of herself. And now, she just took a shoot for Vanity Fair with her posing with only a silk sheet (and pants but the picture doesnt show below her waist) and it makes it seem like she's naked since her back is bare.
I know how people all over the internet keep saying that Miley's only doing what a normal 15 year old teenage girl does but I don't really agree with them. I'm 15 years old and I have never done anything like this and neither have the majority of people in my school. Although the pictures aren't really slutty (like many people think they are,) I feel that it was wrong of Miley to take the photos. She's a role model for young children and preteens and by her being a Disney star, she has the responsibility to watch what she's doing and exposing to the public and her young fans.

I don't think she's that bad of a role model.
Obviously it would be better if she did without those pictures, but I don't feel it's worth criticizing since I know so many girls around that age who take similar pictures. Plus, they aren't even all that bad.

I don't think she's a good role model. I know it's typical these days for kids her age to be doing that sorta thing but I never went through that phase either. She's famous and should know better. Yeah, she can do whatever she wants, but she knows she's in the spotlight and if she gets dogged on for it then that's her problem. As long as she can take the heat for it and not encourage other girls to take provocative pictures of themselves of whatever, then fine.
But I really don't like her either. She's annoying.

To be honest I don't think it's a huge deal, especially considering the fact that I'm a teenager and she's a teenager and although what the photos she took might not be considered "normal" for people our age, it isn't that out of the ordinary.

At the same time however, I understand that parents of kids who are pre-teens, who make up the majority of Miley's fanbase, would be alarmed to hear of or see these pictures. I certainly wouldn't want my children to look up to someone who took scandalous pictures.

So I guess what I am trying to say is, personally, I don't think she did anything wrong, but overall, when considering her situation as a role model to kids and as a person in the public eye, she should have known better.

i dont think shes a good role model, but i dont think shes a bad role model either. she has good points to her -> shes got a good relationship with her family, namely her dad, and she seems really down to earth and nice, which is a good image to project to young girls as a celebrity

however, she does seem to be taking some racy pictures..now i know..lots of 15 year old girls do it, but she should know better! little 8 year old girls idolize her! she shouldnt even take those pictures, even if she doesnt mean for them to leak out, because they have..and will probably continue to..and shes ruining her image

i would say shes more of a bad role model than a good one.

^Yeah! I found it kinda weird that her best friend is 21 years old. I thought that she was like 15 too because she seems immature by her actions on The Miley and Mandy Show on youtube (which is very annoying.)
