Ok so my school always has missions trips that go down on spring break. Since im gradding next year, it is my last chance to go on a missions trip. The only problem is choosing which one. I really want to go to Africa because I always have and I know there is alot of need down there and its really hot too. However, there is also a humanities trip next year that goes to Paris, Normandy, and London. That one looks like the chance of a lifetime. We get to go to alot of historical sites, like Vimy Ridge from World War 1, and of course the eiffel tower. I havent been to either Paris or Africa, but both are at the top of my list. Both are around the same price too. I am torn and dont know which one to pick. Please help!

That's a difficult choice! You should think about your goals first. If one of your main goals is to go to Africa to help and stuff, then I would suggest going there. A friend of mine would like to go on a trip to Africa to help people down there, because she is one of those people who would love to save all the people in the world who are in need. Our school had a trip to Kenya planned for this coming September because our school worked to raise money for Brick by Brick to build a school there. But because of all the unrest there it got canceled. I was considering it but I am a bit scared to go there! I think I am too used to civilization and the familiarity of Canada. But if you'd really like to go there I think it would be easiest to plan a trip there with your school, easier than it would be to plan one on your own because schools have connections and things like that.

The European trip sounds like a lot of fun too. If you're looking for a trip to learn a bit about culture, language, and history, I would definitely recommend that. I think it's fun to go as a school with a tour, but you could for sure always do this sort of thing later in life fairly easily with friends.

Wow, tough choice!
If you really want to go to Africa and help out, then you should go.
The European trip does sounds like a once in a lifetime oppurtunity though. It would be amazing to experience all the culture, history, languages, and customs.

It depends on which of these two trips you might never be able to go on again. Do you think you will be able to do the Europe trip later on with friends? Or will you be able to go to Africa at a later date?

What a tough decision for you!

Africa!
Firstly, it's where you always wanted to go.
Secondly, it seems like you could do a lot more down there than in Paris, although I don't actually know how much is needed in Paris.
Plus, you're more likely to have a chance to go to Paris at another point, most likely as a vacation, than you are to Africa.
AFRICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I think I would have to say Africa too. You can go to Paris (and the other places) any time to explore when you get older (maybe with a tour so you can see all historical places as well.) But to help out in Africa kinda seems like a once-in-a-lifetime thing (to me.) Because when you're older, you'll probably get a chance to go to Africa for vacation but most likely not for helping them out. Besides, if you go to Africa, maybe you can see the awesome lions. (:
But if you're just wanting to relax next year, then you probably should choose to go to Paris, Normandy, and London.

mmm, i dont know. all of my friends want to go on the europe trip and i dont want to go to africa alone. both i really want to go to. and i dont think that i will have this chance again, like to go with friends. There will be tours on the france trip and its more of a trip to see all the sights like vimy ridge and stuff then to help people. Like its more for culture experiences than to help people in paris.

I am gradding next year so I wont be going on another school trip. If I did go to Africa or Europe it would be with my family and not with friends and we wouldnt be doing the same things as the school trip.

this is hard, i was in the same situation. minus the graduating, as im in grade 10.

europe with friends, or china for the culture.
i chose china, and im glad. but it would have been amazing with friends.

in my opinion, as its your last year of high school, all you really want is to have a hell of a time with good friends, as tempting as africa is, go to europe, you'll be able to share a once in a lifetime thing with friends, it'll be something you'll always remember.

one thing to point out: my friend wanted to go to Kenya and didn't sign up for Europe, and then Kenya got canceled because there is a war there, so in the end she didn't end up going to either.
