It's a bit late, I realize (2 hours left in the PST time zone). But I just thought I'd wish everybody a Happy pi Day Happy

I'm gonna look around in the freezer if I have any pie to celebrate.

What's a pi?

pi ( π ) is the number (usually used in schools - rounded - as 3.14) that you use to get the circumfrence of a circle using its diameter, or likewise, the diameter of of a circle using its circumfrence.

So:

π * diameter = circumfrence
circumfrence / π = diameter

One of the wonders about pi is that no matter what size the circle is, if you calculate:

circumfrence / diameter

you will ALWAYS get the value of pi ( π ).

Pi was never my friend.

But Pie was always my friend. Only I don't keep my friends around for long. They warm up to me, we get comfortable. And then I eat them. It's a vicious cycle, really.

Yay for Pi day. Except we didn't celebrate at school. Last year in my math class we all brought round foods.. generally pie.

haha random but one day i was deep in my chemistry work trying to get it done and the guy in front of me took my calculator and pressed the pi button and he was like, what's pi...and i automatically responded 3.141592654 and i thought i'd just rambled some numbers off. then i look up and he's like.. Shocked

. just shows how much staring at a border across the classroom of all the digits in pi helps you remember like a year later. but anyway...pi day is in 4 months..i've never had it before.
