This is a guide to buying/selling/trading in general. Since there are no rules set down by Fashion18, I hope everyone will please honor these guidelines to make things easier for all. THE OFFICIAL RULE is ONLY 1 SALE and 1 WANT thread per user! All others will be deleted.
BUYING:
>> See something you like, inquire, confirm transaction, send payment
+Read and heed seller's rules. If you don't like them, don't buy.
+Send your payment in a timely manner or you may find your reputation marred or mail fraud filed against you.
+Buyer is ALWAYS responsible for shipping, unless otherwise mentioned.
+Buyers should send payment first, unless you have way more feedback than seller or seller has zero feedback.
+Ask for feedback on trusted websites such as eBay, Yahoo! Auctions, Gothic Auctions, DIY Auctions, UBid, Half.com, etc.
+Once you confirm to buy, you CANNOT retract. Do your deciding before
SELLING:
>> Try not to put up a thread for every single item you have. It is unfair to others. Several is fine with the volume we have. Once there are more people, a few should suffice. Maybe one for clothing, one for media, one for everything else, etc.
+Detailed descriptions are key. Pictures are strongly recommended. Do not use other's pictures without permission or claim it be the one you're selling.
+Do NOT price your items above retail.
+It's a good idea to make a few rules of your own to protect yourself
+Send out when you say you will or keep your buyer informed
+Be careful with cheques. If there's not enough funds in buyer's account, it will bounce. You will be charged $10-30 depending on bank/currency. So wait 2 wks to clear before sending item, but let your buyer know that prior to them sending payment via this method.
+Carefully package items. Non-paper/flat items should go in bubble mailers. Makeup should be extra-wrapped in bubble wrap or several layers of tissue paper. Fragiles like glass should be shipped in a box with bubble/tissue/styrofoam cushioning.
+Use www.canadapost.com to get a shipping quote.
+Item must be as described, or else you should allow your buyer to send items back to you or they will have the right to file mail fraud.
+DO NOT SELL illegal items, perscription drugs, or really personal items. No burned CDs (these should only be traded), weapons, used panties, body piercing, etc. Use your own good judgement, too.
TRADING:
>> Two people decide to swap their items with each other. You should both send at the same time, unless one has much more feedback. Then it is up to you to decide, but don't be surprised if you're asked to send first.
+Confirm exactly what each person is getting.
+If sending at the same time, DO NOT wait to receive your end before sending the other off. That is NOT fair and deceitful.
+Do NOT ask for things worth more than your own. A drugstore lipstick for a pair of designer jeans is unfair. If the other person is offering, that's fine. Otherwise, it's generally seen as extremely rude.
