|
|
At my school, everybody seems to be wearing the same things:
-AE, Hollister, and A&F stuff
-TNA sweats, hoodies, zip ups or ANYTHING!
-lululemon pants or scubas
Nobody really seems to have the their own sense of style.
I know I shouldnt be talking either but I want to change that!
Does anybody have any suggestions on standing out and whats in style at the moment? |

Instead of hoodies, you could wear blazers (long or short sleeve) or cardigans. If you have a s/s blazer, you could always try layering a l/s tee under it. And I love the look of a plain tee (long or short sleeve) with a vest over it and I'm not sure about your school, but no one from my school really wears that. For a look to stand out, you could wear a really plain outfit and then jazz it up with bright-coloured accessories...such as a casual skirt, dress, or shorts with coloured tights; or a neutral coloured top and bottom, paired with colourful necklaces, belts, shoes, headbands, or bags (but not all these accessories of the same colour at once!)
Definitely try thrift shopping...I used to hate secondhand stores like Value Village but now, I like it because they have some unique stuff that's really cheap.
Floral prints are in this year, as well as bright neon colours, lace, tie-dye, white, geometric patterns, nude colours, thin belts around the waist, and clothes with one strap. _________________ used to be 'sw33tlilhugz' on the old f18. (;

| I always go downtown and go into little stores and boutiques that have unique stuff. they only carry like a couple of each item so you wont have a 100 people with the same shirt as you. You could also try to get some different accesories to dress up something you already have. You could try some cool new heels or a long double stranded necklace. Basically anything that you like and consider different or special. |

im totally with the last two posts.
its kinda hard to not get sucked in, but really you should shop for lots
of basics, like tshirts and cardigans!
cardigans are a MUST, seriously. they go with every outfit.
i try to have one in every color.
and accessories can make a huge difference.
also, you can wear your clothes you have now in a different way
i used to wear my lululemon hoodie unzipped with the sleeves kinda folded up
then wear a longsleeve shirt under it..it looked really cool, especially the
contrasting color. i had a lime green shirt with a teal blue hoodie.
doing crazy color coordinations will make any outfit stand out.
even if you dont think the colors look good, try them on! you never know.

What I try to do is go to nicer stores (I like French Connection and Tommy Hilfiger) when they have their end-of-season sales. I have gotten the best deals on my favourites pieces in my wardrobe. As well, it's sort of along the same lines, try not to buy things that have a logo plastered all over it. You're going to automatically look a lot chicer.
As for specific styles.... it all depends on what you like, but I try to stock up on good knits (cardigans and sweaters), as well as blouses. Honestly, they're classics people should wear more often. _________________
