has anyone found any good deals there?
what are your opinions on it.
i love the dollar store but sometimes i get carried away. ill be like oh i need this but i actually dont.i just think i should because its a dollar.

ive found sunsilk (blue) cream there and its the same size as in drugstores
down under naturals (normal size)
pantene (smaller size)
i buy my yarn, loofahs, gum (2 for $1)etc... there

one time i went to the dollar store and was looking at the headbands. then i went to urban behaviour and saw THE EXACT SAME ONES at the cost of 3 for $10. it wasnt a look alike. they were the same ones!

I only like Dollarama. Although I would not recommend buying beauty products or personal items there since they are often made with lower standards even though they say they are a brand name.

i always thought they were cheaper because they were either expired or close to the expiry date...always make sure to check beforeyou buy personal beauty items...u don't wanna end up messing up your skin

I love Dollarama. But I don't usually by beauty products there because it's kind of sketchy. AND NEVER BUY THE TOOTHPASTE!!

It's where I buy all my art supplies, scrapbooking stuff, school stuff though.. =).

never buy stuff that you're going to try on your skin @ dollar store. I had a blush from daiso (cuz i heard all the good thing about it) and it made my skin broke out SO MUCH and it scared the * out of me. i learned my lesson.

good deals i found @ dollar store: silver braided belt! it looks identical to the ones seen on mags and posters. the only thing bad is that the stitching is not that strong but nothing that can't be fixed. Also i found manicure tools..1L bottle of water, chocolate and gum =)

yess i often wonder how they sell brand name stuff (Coke, Hershey) at lower prices than my local grocer... is there something wrong with the product? Because I see a lot of stuff that aren't discontinued...

They can sell stuff like coke and chocolate for less because they buy it wholesale. Like when you buy a case of coke at Costco its a lot less then at the grocery store so they can sell each one for less and still make a profit.

i love the dollar store! sometimes ill get candy from there..but i can usually find great hair stuff, notebooks and bristol board for school! ive gotten cream from dollarama because they have small bottles of st. ive's and stuff to put in my purse and its great!!! Happy

I get candy from there sometimes. I got there for hair ties and bobby pins. And then just stationary.. cue cards, highlights, birthday cards..
And then sometimes the random things like hawaiian flowers, etc.

mainly I just go for chocolate bars and pop when I'm broke. Or bristol board for school.

There aren't any dollar stores in my area, so I haven't really gotten the chance to do much dollar store shopping! But when I was in high school, I always got all the stuff that I needed for big projects there - construction/poster paper, glue, glitter, all that arts + crafts stuff!

i get my school supplies & hair accessories there. i got the little bottle of st. ives there and i loved it so much cuz i can bring it everywhere, and it's not a rip-off of the real thing either.

i get little school supplies from there like pens,paper,pencils...stuff like that. Also hair stuff like getting a 100 bobby pins there for a buck rather then spending like $4 at shoppers. The last thing i mostly get there is chocolate or water..food stuff.

I buy drinks there during lunch. They have those huge Arizona iced tea cans for $1. It's way better than the fountain drinks from fast food places.

I have an obsession with the dollar store.

Like, seriously, they have EVERYTHING. And more than once I've spent over $20 at a time. On stupid stuff mostly, but you can find some good things there;

Construction paper, cup & mugs, lead, poster paper, little spools of thread, candy, trash cans, picture frames, paint, etc.

I try to avoid skincare though, and makeup. Who knows what's in that stuff. Also the toys. Those suck. I remember I bought this Barbie-lookalike for Halloween, and her legs popped off and I couldn't get them back on. LOL.

But overall, I love it. Call me cheap, but meh. :/

meh I usually find that you pay for what you get, and that usually cheaper means less quality soo, i dont usually buy stuff from the dollar store. Oh, I do buy cards there though, like birthday cards because normally the person doesnt keep the card anyways and I think its stupid to pay like 10 bucks for a piece of cardboard.

i love the dollar store for scrapbooking stuff,
like scrapbooking paper and sticker etc.
and sometimes candy.
