First of all, can someone please explain the difference between foundation and concealer?
Also, I'm looking for a new concealer. Or foundation. I'm not sure yet.
Anyway, I have this foundation from Revlon (which I'm thinking isn't that great of a brand for it) and I always find that it rubs off really easily.
I want something that blends in better, and doesn't come off so easily if I were to wipe my face with my hand or something.
Any recommendations??
Oh, and what's better: powder, make-up-compact-non-powder stuff? _________________

I'm not completely sure, but I think foundation is just to help even out skin tone and your complexion, and concealer is for obvious spots like zits and scars. If your foundation is heavy enough, it can basically be used as concealer but it'd probably look cakey with a lot on. I don't wear foundation, but a good concealer that I use is Clinique's line-smoothing one. _________________

i love the cover girl concealer stick. It's good and consistent, and definitely didn't worsen my acne. One thing though is that throughout the day you might need to touch up because it gets a bit oily. Right now I'm using the body shop tea tree oil concealer stick. Supposedly, it's supposed to help treat the acne (tea tree oil is really good for your skin). _________________ < fashion 3 |

i use stila concealer..it comes in a small silver tube its like $30 from sephora..its amazing in the sense that it blends sooo well and the tube has lasted me about 6 months now and its not running out..and i put on concealer almost everyday. the ONLY problem is that it comes off somewhat quickly so if you really wanted youd have to reapply it like halfway through the day.
it actually makes me look like i have no pimples. find the skintone thats good for you (theres shades like a, b, c, d, e, f..i think...the further down the alphabet the darker the shade) and try it out in sephora. i loveee it. i got it because i was in tims with my friend and she had so many pimples on her face..she went to the bathroom..came back and they were all gone! i was like holy crap whatd you put on your face im soo getting that lol[/u] _________________ formerly known as rubbersoul |

^^I've been tempted to try the concealer stick from the body shop, but I never knew how it rated.
^That stuff sounds amazing! If only we had a Sephora over here! _________________

^ I think there's a Stila counter at Holt Renfrew
And you can check the rating/comments from MUA (www.makeupalley.com) I looked at them... there's a lot and they're not rated very well. The best one seems to be the Everyday Concealer.
MAC is great for concealer and has a lot of shades.
There's also CoverFX, which is available at select Shoppers Drug Mart. I heard they're really good as well, smudge-proof, waterproof and the coverage is amazing. _________________ [aka mitsukoshi]

^Don't have a Holt Renfrew either. I'm pretty limited to what I can get. But I can get MAC, so that might be an option for me. _________________

I swear by NARS concealer or by Clinique for Foundation.
I've heard good things about Philosphy the Supernatural mineral foundation but I have yet to try it. _________________

Clinique Superbalanced Makeup blends really well but its wipes off easily for me. If you want something that doesn't wipe off maybe try the powder/compact foundations.
As for concealers, Lancome Photogenic Concealer is amazing. It has good coverage and it blends very well. |

For a concealer, especially under-eye i use physicans formula,
it works really good for me.
as for the foundation and powder, it depends on the type of skin you have.
most foundations that rub off only do that if:
a) you have oily skin or youre using too much in the oily parts of your face
and
b) if you havent set it with a powder.
what kind of skin do you have?
dry, oily, combination? |
