| i thought it hurt, the worst piercing i've ever felt was my nose, though.. but normally, of course it would hurt. it's a hollow needle going through your skin (which i advise not using a piercing gun). it's not really anything like getting your ears pierced, i didn't think. it's a really bad pinch and squeezing because of the clamps. but it only lasts a minute, then it gets hot, then it's awkward to bend. that lasts maybe 5 days. you get used to it, it's not as bad as it sounds. i got mine done on a thursday, and friday i left to go on a 6 hour drive to my nannys house at the other end of the province and did lots of physical things there.. you get used to it. |

as boonie_ said my nose was by far the WORST.
I actually thought my belly button was relatively painless though. just stung a bit. probably about the same as my ears. unless you mean the cartilage of your ears..then that was definitely more painful than my belly button. _________________ in my mind I’m havin’ a pretty good time with you |

I want to get my bellybutton pierced too.
My friends and I are thinking about doing it ourselves but i'm kinda scared because i don't know if it's safe to do it by my self even though alot of people do it by themselves.
So if anyone has done it by themselves or know anyone who has, could you give me some advice on like how to make it not so painful and maybe what i can do so it doesn't end up all infected |

My friend got hers done last week. She said it didnt really hurt, its just like someone keeps pinching you.
yeah ive heard its not the worst piercing. But check with the place your gonna goto, you might not be able to get it done if your belly isnt fully developed. _________________

All I can say is don't do it yourself.
You will get a scar when (not if) it gets infected and then you take it out and you'll have a nastyness there.
(Well the piercing does in a way heal and scar but it's worse with infection).
Anyway go to a professional place, and make sure it's clean. Do some research first too. It will hurt but it's tolerable. Once it heals it's fine. (This is according to my friend, who hates needles and stuff as it is.) _________________

| I got mine done and I thought it hurt alot, but it was really short. Like it hurt, but it only hurt for a couple of seconds. Later on it was a little sore, but it was totally worth it. |

| i want to get mine done too... im not really worried about the pain, more so about when to do it so that it can heal. how long does it take to heal so that its mostly back to normal? i was thinking of getting it done this winter so that it would be ok for summer... |
