Early Acceptance?

So I guess Ontario universities have started their first round of offers.. has anyone gotten any early offers of admission? Where and what program?

I got in to Waterloo, York and Carleton last week Very Happy

Congrats!

Are you in non-semestered school?
Or did you get accepted based on grade 11?

I'm in semestered, so my marks will be sent in about 2 weeks. (So no, I haven't gotten anything yet.)

ive gotten into york. thats it so far. Happy

^i got in based on grade 11 marks cause NONE of my grade 12 marks have been shipped off yet. agghhh this whole process is so nerve wracking lol i nearly died when i was applying.

I got in based on grade 11 marks cause my school never sent in our midterms. The school board actually messed up a lot on our applications... no one has their volunteer hours either.

^^yes, I totally agree.. even though I know I have the marks to get in early, I won't rest until i have an admission letter in my hands.
^Damn, that really sucks!

I'm paranoid that my school's guidance department will mess something up - they're very disorganized. Somehow they had in their computer that I was a refugee (originally I was, like 12 years ago, but i got landed status very quickly after that, and I'm a citizen now) and that my mom was of Swedish nationality. I don't have anything against the Swedes, but my mom is Russian. Confused

^hahahhaaha. my school screwed some stuff up. like i didnt even check this on OUAC but my friedn took challenge and change in society and my guidance department spelled it wrong on OUAC hahaha.

I actually just applied like a week ago, lol. I am still waiting to see if I have been accepted to St. FX yet... fingers crossed

I got early acceptance into York! Which is exciting because I did NOT for the life of me expect any early acceptances.

^^congrats!! what program did you apply to?
^The guidance dept uploads gr 11 marks to the OUAC (ontario uni application centre) when they make accounts for students sometime around November. The OUAC submits these marks to universities, and if they're high enough then you'll get accepted.

okay so i just checked ouac, and my final 1st semester grades were uploaded, but for my second semester courses, they only listed two! i'm taking economics, international business, and english, and spare but i don't see ENG4U anywhere there!!!
that's the one course that is absolutely mandatory.. and i dont want the universities to think the reason i'm not taking it is because i'm staying an extra semester. i'm fully 100% enrolled in the class.. i even wrote an essay last week!

i knew my guidance dept would screw something up.

and the paranoia ensues. Shocked

hold up. so are things different between public school and prep schools?
I mean that as in, do post-secondary schools only look at prep school students' grade 11 marks?

I don't want to miss out 'cause I'm in public school, but it's in the top 40 of BC.

^Early acceptance usually uses grade 11 marks but all in all, your grade 12 marks matter the most, and I'm pretty sure it goes for all high schools, public or preparatory.
