i really dont think its worth it to be honest. first, youll be sore so you wont be able to sleep on your stomach..itll probably hurt to hug people anddd uhh..other things lol. ummm..also its a surface piercing so your body may eventually reject it. ive also heard that when you get pregnant the hole can stretch. i dont know for sure if thats true though, could just be a rumor. _________________ formerly known as rubbersoul |

I don't really like naval piercings. At first I thought they were kind of cool, back when everyone was getting them done (around when I was 13-14), but now I'm glad I didn't get one.
Just like what dBee said, it's gonna be sore for a while and your body might reject it. And I've heard the bit about the hole stretching when you get pregnant too. Although I guess if you took it out way before, the hole could close up first.
Also I think it looks bad when people have a bigger ring/barbell on it and then it sticks out through their shirts.
Plus, who's going to see it? Aside from when you're first showing everyone, when you're in a bikini, and your bf if you go that far? _________________

I think they're kinda cool but not really worth it because like ^ said you're not always wearing a bikini, or a belly top for that matter.
That reminds me, the other day this girl came to my work and as I was ringing her and her mom through she pulls up her shirt and touches it as she shows her mom (I think it was infected or something?) like I don't care and I don't think you're cool! So put your shirt back down! _________________

^I hate it when people play with their belly button rings. In one of my friend's classes there were 2-3 girls that would always be pulling at them and poking them. It just looked so weird. Stop feeling your piercing, it's probably going to hurt you in the end.
Sorry, mini rant. _________________

I did the whole "ugh everyones getting it done why would I ever get it done" thing. But this year I got bored, and I took my nose ring out, so I decided to get something pierced (non facial) instead of it. So, I got my navel pierced.
I think it's your own personal preference. I like it. I didn't get it for other people to see, though if they did, it's cool, it's like yeah whatever that's cute she has her belly button pierced. Basically everyone done. It's not a thing I think to "make you different" like everyone thinks it is. I think if you like it, it's your body, get it done. I don't show everyone. I just like the part where I can buy different jewellery for it and it feels like I'm making my body how I'd like it to be. So if you like the look of them, it doesn't matter how many other people have it done.. do whatever feels good to you.
If you do get it done..
It does hurt, I gotta say that. I didn't think it would. It was awkward to bend for a few days, but that's nothing. What piercing isn't? It had a pretty speedy recovery, as long as you use ivory or dove soap in the shower and just move the piercing up and down. Mine has a bump on it right now because I changed it before I was supposed to. Don't do that. Leave the jewellery in until it's healed (3-4 months, up to 6 months). If you do change it, make sure the jewellery is CLEAN! Clean it first, with soap, peroxide, whatever. Just don't use rubbing alcohol. If it does get sore, or if you want to speed up the healing process, buy sea salt. It's at health food stores or grocery markets. Mix the salt with water and put a cotton ball in the water and put it on your belly button. It's real good for it
Good luck, anyways!! |

| I got mine done and I love it, but I do hate it when people pull up their shirts in public and start playing with it. Usually they dont even have a nice stomach. I hate that. People are like overweight and their stomach is all lumpy and then they get it pierced and it looks horrible on them. One of my friends got hers pierced and hers got infected and she is always showing people. I keep telling her to take it and that her body is rejecting it and she wont listen to me. |
