hmm yeah i hear there's specific ways that a supermarket places their food aisles and promotional products that makes us spend more money... and they're usually junk food and pop! _________________ [aka mitsukoshi]

| Produces are prob more expensive cause they can't be processed. A lot of work has to go into it. There is picking, cleaning, all that stuff. Plus, it could be a bad year for a certain crop, and since there is less, it causes the price to increase. |

i came up with a theory that we all get fat as we get older because we start driving and stop walking and playing around and such. _________________ formerly known as rubbersoul |

| If fruits and vegetables were cheaper than "junk food" I don't think it'd make people be more healthy. People eat junk food because they want to, not because it's cheap. |

^not only because its cheap, its so much easier to eat a chocolate bar versus peeling an orange or slicing an apple. the junk food is ready made. even like chips, its so much easier to open the bag and eat those than going to prepare a meal. our society is lazy, its a matter of convenience. _________________ formerly known as rubbersoul |

well of course there are all sorts of contributing factors to it. I know I would rather eat goldfish because it's easier to eat and manage as you eat it as opposed to focusing on eating a grapfruit that drips all over you're face. Which means another contributing factor is that we have become a multitasking society. We want to pay attention to the pretty cataloge we are looking at or the ER rerun we are watching; we don't sit and have just a snack anymore. _________________
