scar tissue

ive got some scar tissue (not just scars, you know those ones that are raised?) and im just wondering, is there anything besides surgery that can help/make it go away?

I've heard that vitamin e can help things like that, maybe try some kind of skin peel? I dont know if it would help, but exfoiliating probably wouldnt hurt either.

will the vitamin e cream really bring down the raised scars? or will it just discolour them to make them not as noticeable?
