| ^Well... I guess I wasn't too fair about AE. I've been having a couple problems with them personally... a bunch of my coworkers are getting lots of hours. So try anyway, I know we (as in AE metro) needs a TON of more people for the holidays! |

we did start hiring a really long time ago... we're constantly hiring new kids AE is always hiring, really.
I'm not sure about the boxing day thing, though. I think you'll get hired regardless of you not being able to work boxing day.. but I'm not sure. |

^hey, thanks for asking (and remembering) about my job search!
I just went to the mall last Friday and handed out around three or four résumés and I got the phone numbers for two of the shops. The two phone numbers I got were from Please Mum and RipCurl. I think that I'm only going to call RipCurl back though because when I went in to hand in my résumé at Please Mum, the manager was kinda mad and scolding one of the employees so she seemed kinda mean.
And I've decided not to apply at AE because I know that you don't get too many hours and I'm really in need of money to save up (and to spend) now. _________________ used to be 'sw33tlilhugz' on the old f18. (; |

@jazuresky :
I went and checked my schedule today and saw that I have an abosolute TON of hours next week. I also found out that the average number of hours everybody else is working is like.. 30. So AE has an ample supply of hours.... esp for the holidays. Just letting you know.
@_TNA_: From my experience (of course), AE is fun. The people there are really cool and fun to talk to and be around. The environment is pretty good for a fast-paced place. It's my favourite job atm. However, some people have said that they find the number of managers confusing (there's 6 at metro right now)... and the pay sucks. Most people there are working for $8/hr or $8.25/hr if you're lucky. So... there's that. But other than the pay thing, it's pretty good so far |

^&^^ Well, the 6 managers are for the various times in the day and the week.. so it's kinda understandable. It's actually really easy to get used to... I was actually confused when someone said that they thought it was weird.
I think we're at 80-something employees right now? 26 more people need to be hired! |

Ahh!!! I just followed up on my résumé at RipCurl by phone and I was so nervous calling!
And I only got to speak with the Assistant Manager, who said that the Manager probably kept my résumé in her file so he couldn't access it. But he wrote down a note for the manager saying that I called and right when we hung up, I heard someone laughing loudly. And I'm not sure if it was that assistant manager or just a customer. -.- But I just hope that the manager will call me back for an interview in the next few days and not Friday (I have dentist then) because I want this job since the staff there seem so outgoing and fun and I just love the environment inside the store.

I've had an interview with Ripcurl....it went okay and I really used it as a practice cuz I'm not really into surfing clothing..
if you haven't already, prepare for the interview before you actually get it just in case you get interviewed on the phone. |

^heh... well, I know that there's 2 in Vancouver: the one I'm working at and one downtown. I also know of 1 in Burnaby by Brentwood... and 1 in Abby on Old Yale Road. There's also 1 in Prince George
LOL@ the stoner thing. Yeah, being at UBC, it's mostly just uni students... I bet quite a few of them smoke (weed)... but I don't think any of them could really be called "stoners". |

^My manager is crazy and we are so shortstaffed but so busy all the time it has made me way too stressed.
I dread going to work, so I need to find a job I don't dread so darn much. _________________

^WOW! That's SOO cool!!!
On Friday, I gave in my 4-weeks notice at my office job (4 weeks so they could find a replacement and so that I could train them). And yesterday (saturday), I handed in my 2-weeks to American Eagle - my last day is next Saturday!
Now, I'll only be working at the pitapit@UBC! |
