hey everyone!
I'm looking to loose a few pounds, just to make myself feel more comfortable with my body and to look great for a little party I have comming up.
Right now, I am 5'10'' and 135 pounds.
I exercise daily for 30 mins, but my weakness is sweets!!! does anyone have any ideas as to how I can loose a few pounds? I was thinking like 5-10 pounds only because I know that my weight is healthy. _________________ -Natalie- |

| I'm almost 5'10" and I weigh 127 lbs... A lot of it is muscle and I have little stomach fat (you can see my abdominals...) but there is some around my thighs. If I lost as much weight as you're looking to lose I would look anorexic, so I really don't know if losing 10lbs would be healthy for you. Eating right will help you gain less fat and become healthier, and exercising will help build muscles. You can become in better shape and more toned, and lose maybe 2lbs. |

I just calculated your BMI and it's 19.4 which is in the healthy range. Losing just 5 pounds would be bordering underweight.
I suggest just watching what you're eating; try to avoid sugary foods. Also work out a little more.. go for walks/runs, sit ups, etc. I think you should just work on toning. _________________

everyday I do thrity minutes of cardio: eliptical, treadmill or swimming depending on what I feel like.
my abs are very toned and flat. for the most part, the problem area seems to be my thighs! any ideas of good exercises for that area?
I always do 50 situps a day with my workout, so abs are definietly not an issue at all.
and missally, if you are about 5'10'' and 127 why would I look bad at that weight? you are close to what I want to weigh.... I'm not sure if I missunderstood your post or not lol _________________ -Natalie- |

I'm 5'9 almost 5'10 and ideally (I'm small framed) I look best at around 120-125, but I've gained alot of weight since I stopped figure skating and I peaked at 152 in June.
I'm now around 137-140 pounds and I'd like to lose 10-15 more. I usually eat pretty healthy lately but the last month has been pretty bad...
If you ever have a craving for sweets, it's all about portions.
I believe that you should indulge yourself but in a responsible manner, if you want chocolate, instead have having the whole bar, have half!
Trust me, I'm a carb/chocolate-aholic. It's hard but after a while you will DEFINATELY get used to it. _________________

For working specifically on thighs I'd try squats and lunges. There are a few different ways to do each, so I suggest googling it to find specific exercises. _________________

If your thighs are the problem area than lunges, squats, and running will tone them. Also try donkey kicks, and the "dog pee". It works your upper thighs as well as your derriere.
I don't think you would look bad at 127, I said if you were to lose 10lbs like you said. I wouldn't mind gaining a pound or two myself so I said if you lost more than a few pounds I don't think you'd look healthy. |

I don't know if I am, but I think I might be anorexic? =S =S =S
I'm 5'5 and 99lbs.
I usually eat very little or sometimes nothing for breakfast
because I don't like eating right after waking up.
and then at lunch break in school, I somtimes buy stuff from the caf.
but sometimes eat nothing at all
and then when I get home, I eat. A LOT!
so either I'm just flat out anorexic, or poor eating habits.
I think it's the eating habits one.
I've started to really fill out.
I'm starting to actually look normal! _________________

^You're just like me (eating-wise), and yes, you are underweight, but alot of people are underweight and don't starve themselves. You could just have a really good metabolism!
I used to hate eating breakfast and still do so I always grab a granola bar or something before I leave to eat when I actually feel like eating. My school sells nothing healthy at lunch (unless curly fries counts as vegetables, which I'm doubting) so I'll bring some snacks from home, drink Starbucks or not eat at all. Once I get home, I just eat lots of healthy protein filled items (Kashi GoLean cereal is a godsend) and it fills me up WAY better than carbs.
If you're not willingly starving yourself, and you just have wacky eating habits, you're not anorexic. I have really wacky eating habits and its just my body doing that, I eat when I'm hungry _________________

yeah, for some reason, i just hate eating before school
I always get hungry by second block, so I just wait for lunch break.
but my school actually sells a lot of healthy things, for cheaper!
(I'm in the cook training class, so we cook for the school and help out selling the food at lunch break)
like, fries are no $2.50 but mexican bean salad, pasta salad, greek salad are only $1.00
PLUS we sell food like pastas, chow mein, chicken souvlaki.
it's very yummy
and the best thing, since the school district is starting to bring less and less junk food items into the vending machines, the cook training classes get to help out by thinking up great healthy things to put in it.
so I was thinking about putting in stuff like dole sparklers along with dole juices, lemonade.
organic baked chips, protein/energy bars.
it excites me. by 2010 my district will be filled with healthy food. _________________
