So.... I actually have in my possesion my dream phone.
I've been reading all the reivews and crap on the internet, and it got a lot of good reviews..
HOWEVER!!! Now that I have it, I'm SOOO not... as satisfied. The reception is bad, and my old phone had better reception. It's maybe because mine has no antennae (sp? I only know that thats how you spell it for bio.... for bugs.. XD)... but even a Motorolla Razor has better reception than me.. ><
So, I'm just wondering, what are some really snazzy looking phones, yet have a good battery life, and good reception?
BTW: I have the Samsung D500 at the moment, and my phone before that was a LG 2000 |

^^it's "antenna".. "antennae" is the plural form
Lots of phones that are good in some areas, can be absolutely horrible in others. It depends on where you are, and what network (provider) you're using. It really is subjective.
Also, many new phones these days don't have an antenna that sticks out like the "old-style" phones. That's because they're now built right into the phone. i.e. the entire body of the phone becomes the antenna... of course the only downside to this is that the electronics inside the phone can directly cause interference (ever hold up your cellphone to a set of computer speakers when you're making or receiving a call/txt msg? the sound you hear from your speakers is the interference).
Nice-looking phone, though! Features aren't too bad, either. |

missally: That phone is pretty coolios! My sister has it, and yeah. It's got nice features and her reception is better than mine (her's is on Bell though).
alexisgeek: Yeah, that's what I was thinking. But then i0nno, it's just that, I'm with Fido, yet the reception is weak. Other phones have better reception than me, and we're in the same location. For example, the Motorolla Razor (although I THINK my friend's with Rogers.... but isn't Fido and Roger's together now?) , and my cousin had this Nokia bar phone, and she's with Fido, yet she has reception, while I don't. |

| hmm i actually like my razr a lot. it's pretty durable, too, i've abused it badly, ie. dropping on cement side walks, dropping out my pocket multiple times, being sat on, etc etc. mine still works perfectly well and i get really good reception. battery life is good, too! i've had mine for a little more than a year now. |

^^You're with Fido? Me too. Though I've actually had good reception with my phone (SonyEricsson Z500a)... but it's a brick.
Yes, Fido has joined forces with Rogers (Rogers bought Fido) and they do share networks now... In fact, like my phone (and every other Fido/Rogers phone), your phone should be switching between the two networks (looking for one with the strongest signal depending on where you are). So if you find that your phone's reception sucks when you're right next to your friend who does have a Fido/Rogers phone who *does* have good reception... then maybe it *is* your phone.
But then again... your sort of problem has been known to happen to Fido customers. Either that, or your phone is defective. 1 in 10 electronics are supposedly defective due to the lack of thorough testing. You might want to try taking it in to a Fido store or a Fido repair shop (a Fido rep will tell you where you could go) before you buy another phone. |

popculture: OH SNAPP!! Your phone looks sooo high tech! Snazzy!
I'm thinking about asking my cousin to buy me a phone when she goes back to Philippines this summer, since in Asia, they usually have the latest things (we're always behind in the latest phones). What kind of phone should I ask her for?
What brands are the reliable ones in:
- singal strength
- battery life/talk life (are they the same or not? :S) |

| Ask for any phone you want... but MAKE SURE that whatever phone she gets for you, is that it's a GSM phone (you're with Fido... and fido/rogers phones are GSM). |

why did the two antennae newlyweds have such a great wedding?
The reception was great!
or something like that. I don't really remember. _________________

i think is depending on wat kind features u need. normally, i wil go for de brand wich is user friendly to me. i try to switch de brand but at de end i not used to it.
we cant expect too much on nowadays phones. there must b something good but something are not. tat is phone companies' conspiracy. if they introduce a perfect phone, de possibility of getting new phone will lower. _________________ Call me eiNg. |
