I was on the public school service bus home today when some annoying kid rang the bell at every stop.

Instead of excusing this kid from the stop the bus driver angrily told us that he would only stop at every 3rd stop.

When it was my turn to get off (I had to stop FAR from my house), I calmly stated to the bus driver that I was dissatisfied with the level of service he provided and that I would be complaining to the city. He then proceeded to angrily yell, swear, and even went as far as to threaten me. There were about 5 witnesses to his verbal attack on me.

I feel harassed and threatened by his behaviour, and he should not have responded in that manner considering I was calmly stating my dissatisfaction. Considering he is a big, old man (ha) and I am just a teenage girl, I feel he should not have spoken to me like that.

I have already written a detailed email to Calgary Transit.

What else do you think I should do? And if you were in this situation, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

Oh man, I'd cuss out the bus driver and do what you did. That reminds me of back in gr.7 some jackass did the same thing and the bus driver said that he would no longer stop at our bus stop so we had to wait in the freezing cold for the next bus to come...it was terrible.
But people complained about the bus driver and there was a new one. Maybe you'll have that kind of luck. =P

I would complain. And kick that kid in the butt.

I would have just complained to the transit services like you did. Hopefully they do something about he. He did not handle that situation well at all. Asshole.

If that were me, and he'd yelled back, I'd probably just bluntly tell him to fuck off and then get off the bus. Of course I'd write a complaint to transit aswell...

Y'know, if you're up for it, and you want everyone to see what an ass this driver is (and how irresponsible that kid was), you could always try writing to the local paper... they might run a little something on how transit blows.

^ I've written/called in a few complaints to my bus service, one about racial discrimination. The only one I knew that was taken seriously was the racial discrimination one, which they told me there would be a hearing for the bus driver. I asked to write a testimony or present my argument and they said that because of certain laws, I couldn't be present at the hearing or even find out the outcome of it!
Then my mom decided to write to our local newspaper about another problem that they dismissed, and the letter was printed! Negative publicity sure made them think about reviewing their bus rules.
So write to your local newspaper after you've called Calgary Transit to see if they decide to act on this. Give them a few days to respond to your email though.

I've had a bus driver exactly like that. Calgary transit sucks etheir way.
The bus has driven by my stop with more then just me waiting for it. And last friday my bus came 40 minutes late so i was pretty much that late for school. its etheir you get a good driver or some complete physco.

I wouldve done the same thing if i wereyou. And you have witness' if they did need evidence. And ^^, said might be a good idea haha. Send something to the herald ive seen them post situations like these so manyt times

I would do the same thing you did. You didn't do anything wrong. Let us know what happens.

Oh, and as perviously stated, write to the newspaper.

I have a friend who was kicked off the bus because he didn't acknowledge the "free transit for all students week" so she ended up walking to school in the rain. She was so angry because of how rude he was, she complained to our counsellor who supported her in writing a letter to the transit company and they had to state an official apology to her =)

But then just a few weeks ago, another friend of mine also got kicked off the bus because she was using the December bus pass (it was November 30th, give her a break!) Whether right or wrong, he yelled at her which is being the exact opposite of being a civil servant!

I dunno what I'd do if that ever happened to me... I guess I'd just call the company right away.

I would've cussed out the kid rather than the driver, haha.

Yeah Calgary Transit sucks.
