-------original post:----
I got the notion to Jousy to start this thread. I'm not sure of the software or URL to go to to customize a forum. I will look into that asap my schedule allows. I will update this every three months.
GUIDLINES:
1. Must portray the season or time of year in an appriate way (i.e. don't do bright flowers when it's winter time.
2. Everything must be easy to find and not difficult to see.
3. Make it aesthetically pleasing, like don't put a whole bunch of bright colors or anything ridiculous.
4. Must be something most everyone will enjoy; please, we don't want you're Pee Wee Herman staring at us, that's creepy. (make it represent the forum as a whole)
5. I know Jousy does it where the picture is a tile, and sometimes not fixed, but I think it would be nicer if it were an on going pattern or picture large enough so it "flows" nicely.
6. BE CREATIVE!!!!
Curent Deadline: December 15, we'll start voting then.
I'll make a separate poll thread for them and post them with the person's name and a sample of how it will look (will tweek the way I do it when I figure out all of the technicalities of it). So keep this thread just comments about the general idea. And suggestions.
Jousy, I hope you are pleased I took this into my own hands, I've been meaning to do this for quite some time now.
keep it real,

| Cool! So do you just want a background? Or a whole colour scheme? |

whole color scheme!!!
everyone will be voting, I won't choose myself, that said, I will probably enter, too.
EDIT: and I was thinking at the begining of every year we could get a new banner at the top. _________________

This is a good idea boarderlinefrenzy :icon_thumbsup: just F.Y.I, software, etc. aren't required to customize this forum. I, as the admin, customize the forum using the admin control panel
Just for clarification:
- The reason why the background image is usually tiled is because there is a restriction on the image's file size. Oddly enough, the maximum file size is not listed as part of the admin controls (presumably, this is a small site over sight )
- There is no option, as of yet, to make the background fixed -- so keep that in mind.
- As for the layout, I have to choose from a list of pre-made layouts that unfortunately, is not viewable by non-admin users. I do have the option of tweaking the pre-made layouts but it takes quite a bit of time so I try to choose a fitting one from the selection at hand.
That's all for now! Have fun _________________

| If you cant do one fixed you can do one with seamless edges, but it would have to be more of a background pattern. |

hmm...this is a really awesome idea! but i don't really get it.
so do we just choose a background picture or do we have to make a sample site to show how it's supposed to look like exactly? _________________ used to be 'sw33tlilhugz' on the old f18. (; |

can we take the background image of another site?
cause i think this tiffany's snowflake background would be nice...it's wintery, bright, and is easy to read on.

To keep things simple, I suggest that you guys only find pictures/wallpapers that you think would be appropriate for the site's background. _________________

^I was thinking the same thing. But maybe just include the color of the table and the defalt font, too. And the color of the links. And the size of the links. _________________
