I'm interested in World War II.
Have you read "Night," by Elie Wiesel yet? The book is actually based on the author's personal experience at a German death camp at Auschwitz and concentration camp at Buchenwald.

^try uncle toms cabin by harriet beecher stowe. it came out around when the american civil war began (1800's) and it was a fictional story, propaganda for slavery to be outlawed. my english teacher keeps telling me its a great read so maybe pick that up Happy
