Okay,
So does anyone know if any winter coats that are really warm but still stylish?
I live in Calgary which gets colder then Vancouver, Toronto, etc. plus I am pretty much the coldest person every haha i get cold so easy.

I might just give in and buy one from Aritizia but i dont really want to. Also are their Peacoats and other coats (other then the bombers) really warm?

Thanks!

What kind of jacket are you looking for? Because the warmest ones would be down-filled bombers which you can get at places like Old Navy and Gap when the weather gets colder. For a more stylish coat, you could get a wool/cashmere peacoat or those gorgeous vintage inspired ones with oversize buttons (think Audrey Hepburn and her Givenchy coats). Those more stylish ones can be found at H&M, Le Chateau, Aritzia. I honestly can't say whether or not they'll be warm enough for you, because I haven't tried all of them on. But if you're not getting a bomber style, you'll probably wanna wear a scarf and gloves. Just try a bunch on and see how you feel in them. Look for good material, thickness, etc...

If you want something really warm, I would suggest getting a longer coat. I have a coat that comes down to around my knees, maybe a little higher. It is made of a brown tweed fabric, that has a tiny bit of gold sparkle in it. I know the gold sparkle sounds tacky, but it's just gold thread that is kind of weaved through the fabric and it has a nice subtle look that is barely noticable unless you're up close. it has brown buttons, double chested at the front. anyway my point is it's very stlish but also the warmest coat i have ever had since it also keeps part of your legs warm.

if you want i can post a picture Happy lol it's kinda hard to describe. i got it from urban behaviour for about $100 about two years ago. oh the only thing is that it has no hood, so I always have to wear a hat so I'm not freezing. so if you want a hood you might not want to go for something in that style. i would also reccomend going to sirens or le chateau, i have seen some really nice coats there.

Peacoats are warm as long as its good quality. I had a cheaper one and it was pretty useless, but I have been looking at some better ones this year and I can tell they will be warm! The good thing with peacoats/trenches is that they have more length so you get more coverage, so if you get cold easy thats a good thing!

Another Calgarian, haha.

This year I'm planning on getting a talula parka for the sole reason of warmth. I didn't want to give in last year so I bought a peacoat, and I suffered all winter.

The peacoats are only good to a certain degree in this fair city. But once it reaches -40, and you're waiting at a busstop for an hour and a half... the aritzia coats hold up much better.

Also make sure to invest in a good hat, because I heard the body actually loses ALOT of heat from the head and it actually really helps to wear a good hat. Happy

^Yes, and flats too :icon_wrong: I think the mayor should like hold a ceremony for me or something, haha.

Ohhhh, the sacrifices I make for fashion. But really, please don't do what I did and live through winter with a peacoat.

I saw that coat at Plenty! But just wondering, will it be warm enough during the snow seasons?
