Where are you all going next year?
I'm going to apply to U of T Scarborough, Mississauga, and St. George campuses (yeah, I really wanna go to U of T) for commerce/business administration with accounting specialist. _________________

I was actually supposed to be in the graduating class of '07, but I was short a credit. =/ So I guess I'm still a senior in high school... *sigh*
Anyway, I'm planning to go to beauty school. But I want to go to a school specifically for cosmetology, and another one specifically for hair.
If I get bored in that profession or if it doesn't make enough, I'll try to get into teaching English in foreign countries.
I don't know WHERE I'm going to go... hopefully outside of this city, though. |

I guess technically even though I'm not in highschool anymore, I could be considered a "senior" since I'm now in my 4th year of post-secondary education (but it's tough to clearly define such things when you go to different schools, different programs, drop out or take time off, etc)... soo..
I plan to goto UBC next year.. use transfer credit to get into 2nd year. I'm aiming to get accepted into the Women's Studies program. |

I'm gonna try to apply to other schools, of course. UBC is my "ideal" uni to go... but I'm also looking into U. of Manitoba, U. of Winnipeg, York, Guelph, McGill...
It all depends on their admission requirements, their degree programs (what they offer, of course), and if I can transfer my courses.... but mostly the admission requirements because my GPA isn't so great right now
Also, since I'm living *on* the UBC campus with my parents, even if I do get into UBC, I won't be able to have a real "student life" because there's no point for me to live in rez. So one of the reasons why I'm thinking of uni's across the country is so that I can *finally* get away from my parents |

^I want to move out as well. I live 10 minutes from York, but if I go there then I'll have to live at home. All the other unis are somewhat of a journey to get to and would be best if I lived on or close to campus.
It'd be really great if I got into Scarborough.. I have a friend who's there right now (he started uni this year) so I'll be able to live with him. _________________

| ^For Arts, I think it ranges between 3-4000 a year for tuition only at most schools. |

ok exact same degree and specialization but I want to go to: Waterloo, Laurier, Western or U of T.
I REALLY want to get into Waterloo, their program is so perfect, but it's so tough to get into it |

| I'm at U of T St. George for Commerce right now and I love it so far. If you go to U of T, I really recommend moving out of home. I moved out myself and the commuters in my program do have difficulty because it's a bit of an isolated program. Commerce at U of T is very hard - one third of the students will drop out/get kicked out after the end of first year and another quarter will drop out/get kicked out after second year. From what I've read from you, though, you sound really sharp and I think you'd do really well. Message me if you want any more info about U of T Commerce! Or - if you would like - I could show you around campus. |

| I graduated last year and decided to wait another year before going to university to work and go back to school for another semester. I have always wanted to go to OCAD so I will apply there and to some other schools, like Ryerson, York, U of T, etc for art, esp Painting and Drawing or Fine Art. |

^I don't go to Laurier but I study business so I did a lot of research when I was applying last year.
I'd say Laurier's Business Admin program is a great business program in Canada. A bonus is also the fact that it is co-op, so you have the chance to get hands-on experience in your field and also earn money at the same time. A lot of my friends chose Laurier for this program, if you have any questions, you can definitely ask me and I'll get an answer for you. |

My World Studies teacher went to Laurier for psychology.. He said it's a really good university and that the class sizes are smaller so he got to know his professors better and had more personal attention. _________________

thanks for the replies!
I think Laurier is now my first choice for their BBA coop program. although Waterloo and Queen's are a close second and third.
Twiggy:
are your friends applying for coop in second year? if they are can you ask them if it's hard to maintain like a mid-high 70s average? i know that's the mark you need to get into coop 2nd year. thank you sooo much! you rock my world. |

I'm applying to Carleton, Wilfred Laurier, and Waterloo. I would LOVE to go to McGill, but considering it's 8 hours away and I most likely wouldn't have the money or grades to go there...i can only dream
I'm going to major in Political Science(International Relations) and minoring in German. |
