| alright, so i go to a private school, but i do not have to wear uniforms anymore! as long as we stick to a dress code (ie. no skanky clothes haha) then it is ok. SOOO, i was wondering, does anyone else go to i private school and not wear uniforms? |

Personally, I am against uniforms. Nobody has their own style, everybody looks the same. I t just makes everything seem boring. _________________

^yeah! i kinda like uniforms too for all the reasons that you said. and plus then, you dont have to worry about wearing the same thing as someone else..haha kinda ironic, but i mean like if its a uniform, then no one will care that its the same but personally, i hate it when someone has the same clothes that arent uniforms as me. but i go to a public school and dont have uniforms.
wow, when i read my post again, i got confused with what i was saying. _________________ used to be 'sw33tlilhugz' on the old f18. (; |

| I used to go to a private school, and we had pretty ugly uniforms. But I remember being so proud of them and collecting pins on my blazer haha. Now I go to a public school and I'm really glad we can wear whatever we want. I think that you should only care what you wear yourself, and that comparing yourself to other people won't do any good. So uniforms may be neccesary for some people, but if you're comfortable with yourself, they really aren't required. |

| The only thing I like about uniforms are the fact that you don't need to decide what to wear the next day. |

I went to a private high school but sadly, we didn't have uniforms! I'd LOVE it if my university had uniforms, haha. I'm proud of my school and a uniform would reflect that? We do have uni gear but it's not the same thing, imo plus, uniforms take all the planning and time-wasting out of prepping outfits everyday. i don't mind dressing up just for going out afterschool, on weekends, etc. _________________

i wouldn't mind having uniforms, but i love shopping so i wouldn't get to wear my clothes as much if i had a uniform. i think it would be better because i wouldn't have to pick out what to wear, and everyone looks the same, but i still like having the freedom of choosing what I want to wear. anyway..just like all clothes, what if a uniform doesn't fit properly? like..sometimes finding jeans can be impossible.. _________________

I wouldn't mind having uniforms. I think private high schools should have uniforms. Not just the "pick the bland color of your polo" but full blown uniforms. The public elementary school across from my school has uniforms. _________________

i go to a public school that has uniform shirts, which means we can wear what ever pants we want. everyone usually wears jeans. i don't like it very much. i think they're a little ugly. but it definately makes getting ready easier.
i think one of the reasons we have a uniform is because it was getting so hard to enforce the dress code. everyone was dressing really revealing/inappropriate. i find it sad that if only students would dress more decent, we probably wouldn't need a uniform. |

^ Wow, I am curious to know what school that is now LOL
Well I went to a private school and we wore uniforms. I loved it but ONLY because there's that seperation between public and private schools.
So in general - no to uniforms. For private schools, all the way. |

| Well, I'm a super lazy dresser so I would say in high school and elementary school at least, uniforms would be a good idea so I wouldn't have to really think about what I wear and it would take less time to prep and more time to sleep! But then again it really isn't a viable option for public schools so I get why we wouldn't have them (I went to a public school pre-university). And I'm pretty sure someone mentioned this already but uniforms are also good because they create unity among the school population, everyone looks the same so it suggests that everyone is equal and treated the same too. Though in practice that might not actually be the case, at least the intent is there I guess. |

^Yes, its good for that reason.
Oh, by the way, we HAVE to wear uniforms again!! It only lasted for like 2 weeks. But we have certain days when we get to wear our own clothes. I always get changed right after school anyways, so its fine. _________________

| I go to private school, and personally, I don't mind our uniforms. Well... it's a uniform, but we have a bunch of choices we can make [we can wear kilts/pants, shorts in the warmer months, we have like 5 different tops and like 7 sweaters] plus we can layer and stuff [hoodies under] and we get to wear any shoes we want to so it's sort of like a dress code, I guess. It saves a lot of time in the morning and I like the fact that people aren't flaunting their Ed Hardy sweaters and Juicy track suits. We still have days when we can wear anything we want to, though. |

I go to public school with no dresscode. But I actually wouldn't mind wearing uniforms. they're pretty cute. =) a few of my friends go to uniformed private schools, and they always tell me how some girls roll up their skirts really high and stuff. _________________

^^^ Yeah, I've had them since kindergarten too. I think they kinda make the school seem more... unified I guess.
^^ Our school says we have to tuck them in too, but the teachers don't ever really notice. We have to wear socks at all times, too. That doesn't really get enforced either. |

Wow a lot of you guys have gone to private schools!
Well I am from a small town with NO private schools (high schools) so no I don't have to wear a uniform, I like it because not a lot of people are interested in fashion in my town so I kind of stand out (in a good way ) because I dress up a little bit more than everyone else I guess.
But I don't think I would mind a uniform because I do think they are really cute (most of the time) lol. |
