What do you do about back acne? I've tried the Neutrogena body wash, it doesn't work, in fact it dehydrates my skin. Confused
How do I get a clear back?

Same thing you'd do for your face.

=___=" uhh, okay

Aren't certain creams and lotions only for your face, and some stuff only for your body? I don't know why, like is the skin any different? Confused

i heard it happens when your sweat dries on your back and chest
im starting to get it ( Sad ) so i wipe my back after walking or working out etc..etc..
try to keep your hair up as much as possible cause the oil can rub off onto your skin which can cause you to break out

I went to the doctor and got a prescription to use on my chest/back-I can't remember what it's called but it works really well. You put it on at night-the only bad thing is that it seems to discolor blue clothes (PJs anyways-I haven't really seemed to have much trouble with my regular clothes....but it's probably good to make sure you wash it off before you wear blue shirts).

oh and it could also be caused by friction
so try wearing losser clothes dont carry your backpack on your back hold it in your arms and (possibly) see if your bra size is to small

Sometimes the cause can be it's too dry... so after every shower apply moisturizer!

You never know... Icon_whistling

Oh and apparently taking warm showers rather than hot ones helps. Hotter water dries out your skin more.

if you use any hair products and u have long hair it might help trigger the acne b/c is clogs the pores.. Icon_nono2 i keep a spare towel in the bathroom so when i gel/mouse my hair i put it on my shoulders so no product even touches my back.. works for me... and yeh probably wash it when you sweat etc ...

It's the silicone in shampoo/hair products that can cause you to break out, so yeah, do what ginabambina said and wash your hair before you wash your back. OR buy silicone-free products.

Mine goes away in the summer. Thank god.

Maybe it's cause you wear less layers and your skin can breathe.
Or maybe it's because when I started to get it in the winter, I scrubbed insanely with facewash and a scrub brush Happy. Just so it would be gone by summer.

But whatever, I'm glad it's gone...for now!

i dont know if this is normal, but i have sort of the same thing on my upper arms. it doesnt really look like acne that u would get on your face, but i have a whole bunch of bumps on my arms and if you squeeze them, the same sort of stuff comes out as if you were squeezing a pimple/blocked pore. i sometimes use st. ives apricot scrub on my arms, and it seems to help, but nothing i've tried yet actually gets rid of all the bumps.

I don't get back acne myself, but I think that using a body wash that has salyclic acid (is that how you spell it?) would help you dry that out. Also regularly exfoliating would probably help as well. I get mark products and I think they have one specifically for back acne:

http://shop.meetmark.com/shop/product.asp?src_page=product_list.asp&level1_id=300&level2_id=469&pdept_id=486&dept_id=498&pf_id=8107

It also happens to be on sale right now, only $3.99...I think that might be American dollars though so don't quote me, haha.

Those little bumps on the back of your arms can go away if you exfoliate them.

When I was like 13 I had that too!! I had no idea what it was. I didn't use anything on it really, I honestly just kept picking at them I guess (not horribly leading to scarring picking, but you know) and they eventually all went away. It didn't leave marks on me.
