So... people have been saying how if you really want a job, and you don't get a call back [from the place you handed in your resume], then you should call and follow-up on your resume.
But... what do you say?
I really want to work at the retail store ('cause I'm still young, still in high school), and I know for a fact that they are still hiring because I inquired. The person said that he'll look for resume [because I told him that I handed in my resume a few weeks ago], and I left my name and number. It's been a week now, and I haven't recieved a call yet. ) :
So, I thought that maybe I should call and follow-up on my resume.
But I don't know what to do.. :S
Do I ask for the manager?
Do I still state that I'm interested for the job, and that I'm ready for an interview any day? |

Um well I am not really sure about this, but what I would do is call and ask for the manager (and if he/she is not there then ask what time would be best to call them) and say your name and that you handed in your resume on __ date and you were just wondering if they recieved it.
But also, dont expect them to call so soon becuase I handed in my resume like a month ago and i just got a call for an interview now |

BUMP.
SORT OF in the same situation, except I actually went through the interview already.
The manager is a family friend and he told me to give him till this Friday for him to call me back. If he doesn't call by then, I have to call him. My mom said that I should just call him on his cell, thing is, I lost it. Should I just call the store, since it'll be more professional?
I'm kinda scared to call, although I really want the job. My dad said to just leave it, since I have a job already... but I'd rather work there than where I currently work. Feedback? |

^im not really sure...but if you reaaally want the job, then i think you should just try calling; nothing to lose, right? since you already got a job 8)
and i dont know what to do...i got a call message last week from this place that i handed in my resume to a month ago but i still didnt return their message because everyday, i was volunteering and then working until late at night. the problem is that i dont really want to work there anymore so if they're calling for an interview, i wont wanna go...but should i just call them back anyways to see what they have to say?
plus, i handed in a resume/application/cover letter at this retail store i reeeally want to work at on thursday(august 30th)...so i was wondering when would be a good time to follow up on it _________________ used to be 'sw33tlilhugz' on the old f18. (; |

| i heard that companies wait til they get ALOT of resumes and then they hire so that they know that they are getting the best person. so you should wait a few weeks/months till you get a call |

BUMP
So I'm also wondering about a callback after an interview. At the interview the lady said that they wouldn't be calling people back for about 2 weeks since they're waiting on some changes at the store and she wanted finals to put mostly over with and she said to call back if I feel that I missed her call.
So it's been two weeks since yesterday and I think I'm going to wait until Monday to call her back since I don't want to call on the weekend since it will be busy.
But what do I say??
Hi, it's ___ and I had an interview with you and was wondering if you want to hire me??

^That's what I ended up doing.
I just said hi, this is ____. I had an interview with you two weeks ago for the position of a hostess and I was calling to follow up. I told her I was still interested in the position and yeah, it went well. _________________

^Ooh, are you gonna get the job or get another interview?
I went last Wednesday to hand out résumés (wasn't too successful since I only handed out three, though it seemed like I handed out more.) I gave my résumé to this clothing store and on the spot they asked me a few questions and I think I did pretty well since I wasnt saying 'um' or stuttering or other stuff I do when I'm nervous. Once I got out of the store, I realized how stupid I was because I forgot to ask for their phone number so I won't be able to follow up (unless they have a phone number on their website, which I'm pretty sure they don't.) _________________ used to be 'sw33tlilhugz' on the old f18. ^Look up the store in the phonebook. Or if it's in a mall, a lot of places give store listings with phone numbers. Or the help desk can give you a number.
I don't think I'm going to get the job. Which kind of sucks since I was starting to be so sure that I would. The interview went really well, or so I thought. And she remembered who I was in the follw up. But she said she'd call back in a few days and she hasn't. Sigh. I think it would've been a sweet job. _________________

Well it's good that you called! Do you know if you got the job yet?
It's always good to follow up because it shows initiative and that you are interested in the position. _________________
